What is the Spiritual, a 21st Century Definition
“Spiritual is every reality that a life being can perceive through the 6th sense.”
The 6th sense is a method of perception which include: instinct, intuition, extrasensory perception (ESP), equilibrioception (sense of balance), proprioception (sense of body position), hunches and subconscious processes.
Since the definition of the 6th sense might not be consensual, spiritual can also be defined as:
“Spiritual is every reality that life being can’t perceive through the five methods of perception, hearing, sight, touch, smell and taste.”
Methods of perception or senses are the same thing.
Spiritual comes from the word spirit, and spirit comes from the Latin world “spiritus“, which means breath. So spiritual is what gives “breath” to the physical, what makes it alive.
In the human paradigm, we can say the physical is the body, and the spiritual is the mind.
The same way there is no concept of light without darkness, no happiness without sadness, no awake without sleep, no rest without work, no hot without cold, so there isn’t physical without the spiritual. It’s just the way the universe collaborates with the positive and the negative, the yin and the yang, the north and south, etc.
Spiritual and the physical are opposites, just the same way material is the opposite of immaterial.
Science, especially western science has been dealing too much on a Newtonian perspective of things, only dealing with the physical part of it.
But things are changing in the scientific paradigm, so it’s becoming each time more mainstream, namely in quantum science, to deal with the non-physical model of things.
